Top 5: Questions you've always wanted to ask the Multiple Man but were afraid to

It's been awhile I know, I just haven't been feeling the whole blogging thing lately and figured I'd take a break.
For me these days it's all about posting when I feel I actually have something to say or am inspired to create and showcase something rather than just posting just to fill some imaginary quota I feel I should be filling.
Don't worry I'm good, just not feeling under the gun to post as much is all.

That being said, here's a list of the Top 5 questions I think we've all wanted to ask Jamie Maddrox, a.k.a. The Multiple Man, but maybe were just afraid to. Well, now you can, or at least I have for you.

I asked and found some random Twitter users to send in their questions for Jamie, and I picked the top 5 ones I liked the best.

Let's see how it went shall we?

Well damn, that sure got nasty quick didn't it?
I guess it's safe to say he's not coming back to answer any more questions anytime soon.

Top 5 Spider-Man Villains That Could've Been Dr. Strange Villains Instead

Who's seen the new trailer for the next MCU movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home?
I have and it's pretty good actually. No I still haven't seen Homecoming yet and I'm ok with that, but this one looks good enough to watch.

In the new trailer, Mysterio claims to be from an alternate universe similar to ours but different. Even Fury believes this story.

And while I know fans are all a buzz with the possibility of an actual multiverse existing, especially now that time travel is a thing in the MCU now thanks to Endgame, I personally don't feel that's the case just yet. Nope instead, I think Mysterio's story about being a hero from another universe is just  like the monsters in the movie he created (Hydro-Man and Molten Man respectively) all part of his plot to endear himself to the MCU and get their guard down in order to do whatever evil scheme he's got cooked up.

Now sure I could be wrong here, but that's what I think. Not only is he pretending to be a hero, but he's also upping the ante by claiming to be from another world. And again, after everything Fury and Spider-Man's seen the possibility of a whole multiverse existing doesn't seem that all far-fetched does it?

I do believe this panels explains it all in a nutshell:

Speaking of Mysterio, guess who made the list of Spider-villains who could've just as easily been fighting Dr. Strange instead?

 That's right this guy:

I'll explain why as I go over my Top 5 list of Spider-Man Villains that could've just as easily been Dr. Strange villains instead.

5). The Green Goblin

Read this and you tell that the Green Goblin wouldn't have a been a really good villain for Dr. Strange if Ditko had kept the supernatural aspect the character and his origins intact:

I'm not sure how the original version of the Green Goblin would've ultimately faired in the MU over time, or even if he'd become as popular as he eventually became, but I'd like to think he'd have been a natural for becoming one of he good doctor's most persistent foes. Hell, he could even retain the double identity of Norman Osborn, so that instead of being a persona that developed due to a chemical he created, it'd be more a case of supernatural possession.

4). Puma

Since his powers are already mystical in nature, it's not much of a stretch to me why Puma wouldn't be an ideal opponent for Dr. Strange. Replace his original purpose of being bred to kill the Beyonder with that of a/the sorcerer supreme and add in his side job as a mercenary, and you wouldn't have too work to hard to explain away his addition into Strange's rogues gallery.

3). Will O' The Wisp

Another science-created super villain, and fellow member of the Outlaws with the #4 entry, the Will O' the Wisp could instead be a magical creature, a demon, a vengeful ghost, or something else entirely. Either way he could become a potential mystical menace for the good doctor to fight instead of Spider-Man. His abilities of within the realm of the manipulation of the electromagnetic spectrum makes him on paper a very powerful threat to anyone. Despite all this, and his many, many abilities,

Powers
Adaptive
Agility
Berserker Strength
Blast Power
Density Control
Dimensional Manipulation
Electricity Control
Electronic Disruption
Emotion Control
Energy Absorption
Energy Based Constructs
Energy Manipulation
Energy Shield
Energy-Enhanced Strike
Enhance Mutation
Flight
Force Field
Heat Generation
Hypnosis
Implants
Intellect
Invisibility
Invulnerability
Light Projection
Magnetism
Matter Absorption
Mesmerize
Phasing / Ghost
Psychic
Radiation
Stamina
Super Sight
Super Speed
Super Strength
Telekinesis
Telepathy
Unarmed Combat

Ol' Will sure gets jobbed out a lot. That being said, if he was instead a

2). Venom

Yes Venom. All you have to do is just change alien symbiote to a tool of an evil sorcerer or demonic entity and Venom's your man.
And hey it's not like it's that much of a total stretch considering how Marvel's allowed writer Donny Coates to give the race of symbiotes a new, retconned origin as being created out of living darkness from the dark god known as Knull. If we were to fully go with the mystical aspect of Knull, then he'd make a logical enemy for Dr. Strange, with the symbiotes being soldiers in his war on everything, Strange included. Venom could either be a powerful symbiote that's given or gained independent sentience, or is an amalgamation of all the symbiotes personified as a creature calling itself Venom. Either way, Strange would have a new and very deadly adversary to deal with.

1). Mysterio

]

I've already given away the #1 entrant, but here's why he could be a potential villain for Dr. Strange:
Either his powers and abilities are mystical in nature, or he remains as he is, a formidable master of special FX with a personal vendetta against the good doctor due to say, being exposed as a fraud, or having one of his world-conquering schemes put down by Strange, either way, he gains an enemy for life in Mysterio.

Those are my picks, who would yours be?

Top 5: Netflix Replacements for Iron Fist and Luke Cage

So I'm sure you guys are all aware of the cancellations of Iron Fist and Luke Cage by Netflix for various reasons.

Apparently this movie by Netflix caught everyone surprise, fans and show creators alike, since the Luke Cage show was seen overall as the stronger of the two and season two of Iron Fist had apparently been a much better improvement from the last one.

Personally, I'll admit to not watching either shows, especially Iron Fist due to bad reviews.
Just wasn't really interested, and to be honest I'd rather have seen them appear together regularly in their own show, like Heroes for Hire, which is rumored to possibly go that way if Netflix so wishes.
A show based off Misty Knight and Colleen Wing called the "Daughters of the Dragon" is also another possible replacement, but for now that's all mere speculation.

So with that in mind, I've thought of my own possible replacements the cancelled shows, 5 of them to be exact:

My Top 5: Netflix Replacements for Iron Fist and Luke Cage

1). Damien Hellstrom

I really wonder how Damien doesn't already have his own show, Netflix or not, when you consider his whole deal. I mean he's the literal son of Satan who's trying his damndest (get it damndest?) to be absolutely nothing like his father (who can't relate to that?)

Throw in a natural case of sibling rivalry with his sister Satana and you have all the makings of a hit show.

Oh and did I mention he also has a built-in connection with Jessica Jones through her BFF Patsy Walker, a.k.a. Hellcat? Yup. Now sure they don't have to have been previously married, but they could meet and date at least.

As for his occupation, well thanks to the Conjuring series of movies, being a paranormal investigator's all the rage, so that's what I'd make him as part of his regular day job, a paranormal investigator who releases evil, vengeful spirits and exorcises demons away from unwitting hosts.

Again, and honestly folks, this shit practically writes itself.

And hey you can also use Damien's show as an opportunity to introduce other Marvel magical characters like Topaz, Jennifer Kale, Dr, Druid and Brother Voodoo just to name a few.

2). Man-Thing

Yes the movie did NOT do Manny any justice...as in at all, but there's hope for redemption in giving him a much longer episodic series in which to properly tell his story. I'd also advise since the comparisons to the Swamp Thing TV show are inevitably going to be made, to go ahead and fully embrace them, giving us a more modern and much better version of Marvel's answer to Swampy.
Of course I'd only expect to the show to only last a season, and there's going have to be a good amount of money thrown at it for special effects and all, but if done right, it could be a really good surprise hit for Netflix.

If only Steve Gerber was still alive to write it.....

3). Morbius The Living Vampire

Despite the fact that Hollyweird's letting Jared Leto fuck up another comic character movie (Idk, maybe he actually makes this one work, who knows) Ol' Morbie's a pretty good candidate for his own Netflix series. Why?

Here's why: He hits the still-popular Vampire genre niche, with his tortured existence and ever-present constant hunger for blood, all the while possessing none of the typical limitations of regular vampires. That in itself is worth its weight in story-telling gold. And no, you don't really need to include Spider-Man in the series at all since Morbius can work independent of ol' web-head.

4). Simon Garth, Zombie

Okay now this one might seem like an odd choice, but hear me out: even in 2018 zombies are still all the rage, well ok, maybe that particular ship has already left the harbor due to how The Walking Dead is slowly but surely declining in ratings,  but its still possible to milk the genre just a little more with the tragic story of Simon Garth.

For those that don't know his story, real briefly, he was a workaholic executive for his family's coffee plantation business, who became an unwitting human sacrifice for a local voodoo cult when he was kidnapped by a former employee had fired. Despite the efforts of the cult's voodoo priestess to free him (she was in love with him) he became a zombie forever more.

There's definitely plenty of relatable and mine-able story elements here, as well as the fact that he can sometimes be controlled with the amulet of Damballah if you happen to possess the other half.
He can sometimes talk and is definitely not a traditional zombie in the fact that he's not mindless and constantly hungering for the taste of brains.

I think this could make for a very interesting series.

5). Moon Knight

For me this is a true no-brainer, and THE only legit, number one possible replacement for Daredevil should Netflix ever decide to pull the plug on it.  And even if they don't(hopefully) the subject of Moon Knight would make for a very compelling and binge-worthy show.
Think about it; You have a street-level superhero who legit suffers from a mental disorder, who may or may not be powered by an Egyptian deity, a deity that also brought him back to life, he used to be a merc and he can call on anyone of his 4, count 'em 4 alternate identities to use. Nevermind a superhero with a double life, Marc Spector can have up to four!

How Moon Knight doesn't have his own show already I have no idea.
Let's make it happen Netflix!

Most and foremost I have to stress that while some of these characters could be excellent shows for the CW network, the tween and teen audiences IS NOT what I'm aiming for. These are to be serious and well-written shows, like most of the current Netflix shows are.....well for the most part anyways.

I did consider some other characters too, like....

  •  Hellcat, but then I'm not sure a supporting character like her can support her own show.
  • Deathlok, but they'd have to reboot him scratch since he has the stink of Agents of SHIELD all over him (I'd use Charlie Huston's Deathlok the Demolisher mini-series as a blueprint)
  • Werewolf By Night (Like the Howling maybe?)
  • Killraven (budget issues) and
  • Sleepwalker: It would never happen even though it's a totally original premise.

So that's my list, whatta' ya' guys think?

Top 5: Marvel Characters I'd love to see teamed-up with Alan Moore's Swamp Thing

So yesterday I mentioned how I've been on a bit of a Swamp Thing kick as of late, especially concerning Alan Moore's run with the character.

I even ordered the much-maligned DCUC SDCC Exclusive Swamp Thing figure.

Yeah.

Anyhoo, it got me thinking which comic characters would be a good fit to interact with Moore's Swamp Thing. I immediately had a contender, and from there, it got me thinking about even more characters, particularly the ones found exclusively in the Marvel Universe.

I found 5 top choices. Here they are.....

Top 5 Marvel Characters I'd love to see teamed-up with Alan Moore's Swamp Thing:

5). Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's Dr. Strange

One can only even begin to wonder what Moore's Swamp Thing would look like interpreted through the eyes of  early 60's Ditko. Likewise, how would Moore interpret the classic Lee/Ditko version of Dr. Strange? The possibilities, especially the visual ones, are seemingly endless, as would the potentials for what type of magical adversaries and situations Strange and Swampy would be forced to undergo for our amusement.

4). Peter David's Incredible Hulk

Moreso than the iconic Lee/Kirby version, Peter David's version of the Hulk, especially the period where he was battling with his many alter-egos before merging into the "smart" Hulk, would be an ideal version to compliment Swamp Thing.  I mean you have the duel themes of scientist and monster for both of them, and much like Moore advanced the previous idea of Swamp Thing by evolving him past his iconic, but simple beginnings, so too did David on Hulk, by evolving past the previous work already established by linking the character to the concept of multiple personality disorder. These themes would all be excellent fodder for a story, as would the possible enemies besides the traditional, inevitable fighting they'd get into.

3). Steve Gerber's Man-Thing

Yes, this is an over-obvious choice, but shit, Steve Gerber was pretty much doing the Alan Moore thing on the title, injecting a simple monster book with very relevant social and adult themes that were hardly addressed or even brought up in standard fare superhero comics. Gerber was ahead of his time by doing that, so his take on Man-Thing would be a solid team-up. Not to mention, SOMEONE would finally be able to successfully communicate back and forth with Manny.

2). Jim Starlin's Captain Marvel

Similar to his later work on Adam Warlock, Jim Starlin would take a standard, quintessential super hero like Captain Marvel and transform him into a more complex and three-dimensional character that felt new and inspired. I'd be damn interested in seeing Swamp Thing and Starlin's Captain Marvel interact and compare differing alien philosophies on life, culture, etc.

Plus there's Marvel's cosmic consciousness powers to explore. Imagine Swamp Thing examining himself, or Marvel examining Swamp Thing's soul through the lens of his cosmic consciousness?

1). Jim Starlin's Adam Warlock

Oh God, the whine-fest and long, drawn-out talks about philosophy these two kindred and tragic spirits could have, as they compare notes about how bad their lives sucked, and how they're just misunderstood.

But at least it'd look damn good though.
Plus there's always that Soul Gem for story fodder.

Anyone else you'd pair Swampy up with from the MU?

Top 5: Evil Comic Book Presidents

TGIT!!!!!

What's up people?

Well , today's the last official full day of President Obama's administration. Love him or hate, you're damn sure gonna' miss him as soon as Trump gets sworn in.
I know I will even though I didn't vote for Obama, but I wasn't exactly against him being president either. For all his failings as a president, at least he was rational, diplomatic, and left the country at least financially (not to mention lower gas prices) better off than he found it.

Trump's going to fuck us. All of us. And hard, very very hard.
For those who can't wait for Trump to "Make America Great Again", just remember who exactly he's making it great again for. It's definitely not you and me, the common, working man. No, it'll be his business buddies. His golf friends. People that have kissed his ass, and continue to keep their lips attached firmly to his ass like their were gorilla-glued on there.
Add in the fact that he's essentially hired the anti-dream team of candidates who are woefully under-qualified and have in many cases, fought/worked/made trouble for and against the very government departments they're supposed to be heading up, and you can clearly see we're all headed for disaster.

A beautiful disaster? No, just a big, long, ugly 4 years of a disaster...

It's in this spirit of the absence of hope, that I present today, the Top 5 evil comic book presidents of all time. And yes, they really did exist at one time or another.

Here they are:

Top 5 Evil Comic Book Presidents:

1). The Smiler Gary Callahan (Transmopolitan)

The Smiler became THE main foe for gonzo journalist extraordinaire Spider Jerusalem. Costing him his job, hiring people to kill him, and various other offenses. His whole platform was how much he truly cared for his constituents and felt their pain, all; the way secretly loathing and plotting against them behind closed doors. Rose to power via false promises and flowery speeches. Kind of like a politicians really.

2). Prez

Okay this is definitely a bit of a stretch, but Prez is a teen, and there's no way a teenager is going to successfully run the country....Oh he will, just into the ground after turning national parks into giant skateboard parks with free wi-fi, turning the national bird into the middle finger, converting the established national currency from dollars to bit coins, and electing officials based off how many likes their FB pages get. Hey, it could happen.

3). Doom 2099

The Doom 2099 series unlike its peers, wasn't about a futuristic version of Doom, but rather the real deal, preserved and brought back to life in 2099. After getting his bearings he and reclaiming his country of Latveria, he set out to rule America too, by scheming and killing his way to the top office of the U.S.

And did a pretty good job though actually.

4). The Red Skull (Old Man Logan)

The Red Skull became the president of the MU US in the dark future of Old Man Logan, where the all the super villains teamed up and finally eliminated most of their respective immortal superhero foes.
The Red Skull divvied up the nation amongst the top villains like Doom, like a feudal state, whilst reigning in power in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C......until the titular hero of the story killed him.

5). President Luthor

Yes, Lex actually was once president in the DCU back in 2000. He lasted about a year in office before he was impeached thanks to the efforts of Batman and Superman during the "Absolute Power" arc in Superman/Batman.

He was also president in the dark Justice Lords future in the Justice League animated series. Out of all of these guys though, only Lex is the closest( well maybe with the exception of the Smiler) who's appointment to the oval office mirrors Trump's. Plus their both Billionaires who love branding their names on everything. Sadly, or thankfully, no giant evil robots.....for now.

Top 5: Real Life Celebrities That Look Like Morbius The Living Vampire

TGIT!!!!!!

You ever have those moments where you;re watching a movie or a television show, and you notice how a certain actor or actress really resembles a certain comic book character?

Yeah, me too.

So today, I've compiled a small list of celebrities that I feel really look a lot like Morbius the living vampire.

Should be fun.....

5). Ethan Hawke

Hey, he does have prior experience playing a vampire (Daybreakers anyone?) so.....

4). David Bowie

Unfortunately he can't now, but back in the day, especially in the late 70's, he certainly could've.

3). Trent Reznor

It just feels so right to go with such a dark and charismatic figure like Mr. "Grunge Jesus" himself.

2). Michael Jackson

C'mon, it's a no-brainer.....literally.....

1). Steve Buchemi

It's super obvious to me who could've played him in the early 90's, and I'm not alone in this; Wizard Magazine once cast him to play Morbius in a Midnight Sons movie.

It's true; look it up......

That's what I think. Who do you think might play a pretty damn convincing Morbius the living vampire on the big screen, or small?

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
