So, Who Would Win?: Kurt Busiek's Thunderbolts VS. Warren Ellis's Thunderbolts

What's up People?
For this week's edition of So, Who Would Win? I'm pitting Kurt Busiek's original Thunderbolts against Warren Ellis's version of the Thunderbolts.

Why? Because I can, and it sounds like a really, really fun fight.

Now if some of you don't remember by now, the major twist and hook at the end of first issue of the original Thunderbolts run, was that they were all classic villains posing as heroes, all led by Baron Zemo, posing as the patriotic hero Citizen V.

The main hook for Ellis's version of the Thunderbolts, was that they were all criminals who were legally-sanctioned to hunt down heroes and villains alike who violated the registration law post-Civil War.
This incarnation was led by now government operative Norman Osbourne, AKA, the Green Goblin.

How cool would it be to see these two similar, but also vastly different iterations of the same team face off against each other?

That's what I want to know.

Here's the roster for the original Thunderbolts:

And now here's the roster for Ellis's Thunderbolts:

Now as you can plainly see, at least two of the members from the first incarnation are also on the Goblin-led one, so that automatically makes it even more interesting to watch play out.

And no, I didn't add Jolt to the original line-up because she wasn't part of the initial original line-up, and 'cause I said so.

So, Who Would Win?: Cable VS. Deathstroke the Terminator

I wonder how many people have though of this match up before. It's had to have been a lot, and why wouldn't you?
Just the very idea of seeing these two seasoned, battle-tested soldiers of their caliber should be an irresistibly intriguing one.

Continuing from yesterday's Fantasy Team-Up between Cable and the Wolfman and Perez incarnation of the Teen Titans, we see Deathstroke the Terminator appear during Cable's offer to mentor and lead the Titans. Interrupting before allowing the Titans to answer, Deathstroke prepares to attack our young heroes in order to fulfill his dead son's contract out on them.

But Cable chooses to stand in his way, partly to prove himself to the Titans in order to gain their trust, and partly to insure that the already weakened and battle-weary teens are around for him to mentor and lead.

We all know Cable's powers; one of the most powerful Mutants around with the abilities of telepathy and telekinesis. Combined with his techno-organic body parts and a long lifetime's worth of combat experience, he's pretty much the Ideally perfect soldier.

Then you have Deathstroke; he's basically an evil Captain America, with super-enhanced speed, agility, at the peak of normal human strength, combined with a healing factor. He's extremely resourceful and always carries a wide array of deadly weapons on his person. He once took out the Justice League during Identity Crisis, if that helps demonstrate how dangerous he is.

Aquaman/Namor VS. Black Manta/Tiger Shark

So I got my laptop back, and everything's back to normal around here, so let's get on with this week's edition of So, Who Would Win, as I continue the team-up theme from last week with Aquaman and Namor teaming up against a team comprised of some of their deadliest and most persistent foes.

Case in point, the team of Black Manta and Tiger Shark.

Last week Attuma and Ocean Master gave our heroes a hard time, now it's Black Manta and Tiger Shark's turn.



As we all know, Black Manta infamously killed Aquaman's son, and jumped to the head of Aquaman's hit list after that; Tiger Shark was created to be a natural counter to Namor, both in size, strength, and the water factor of course. Add in admantium teeth, and namor's got more than can handle with hardcore mother fucker.



So, as in keeping with the same scenario as last week's, Black Manta plans an attack on his lifelong enemy, and now with Aquaman battered and bruised after his fight with his evil half-brother, Manta strikes!

Same deal for Namor, as he too is assaulted by Tiger Shark after just going 15 rounds with Attuma.

Manta and Tiger Shark team-up and go on the attack, and it quickly becomes a real test for out heroes whether or not they have anything left in the gas tank to survive this latest fight. It's Aquaman and Namor versus the guy modeled after a shark and the guy modeled after a stingray......

So,

So, Who Would Win?: Aquaman/Namor VS. Attuma/Ocean Master

TGIT!!!!!

That's right, you read the title right, it's a Fantasy Team-Up edition of So, Who Would Win, as Aquaman and Namor team up to take on one a team made up of one of their respective lifelong foes, Attuma and Ocean Master.

In my scenario, Attuma gathers a huge army to attack Namor, but as he makes his way to advance on Namor's Atlantis, a bright, blinding flash suddenly appears, momentarily halting Attuma and his army. Ocean Master appears through a mysterious portal with an army of his own in tow.



Ocean Master looks puzzled.

"This isn't Atlantis! That damned sea witch sent me somewhere else, or.....someplace else....."

"Oh this is most certainly Atlantis alright stranger. Can't you clearly see that?" Says Attuma.

"No the layout, the look, the domes...it's wrong, all wrong." Clearly this isn't my Atlantis."


"Well soon it won't be the king of Atlantis' either, when my army and I bring Atlantis down around Prince Namor, and make that fool regret the day he ever defied me!"

"Namor eh? Sounds a lot like my bastard half-brother."

"Perhaps if I aid you in your quest, you can aid me, and then we'll both be free to rule our respective kingdoms. What say you.....?"

"Attuma, and I accept stranger."

"The name's Ocean Master, as in master of my world....and perhaps this one as well...."



And there you go, instant team-up on Namor's ass.

Then help arrives in the form of the another weird portal opening up 10 minutes later.....



"Hmmm, strange. I thought he'd be here by now, but there's no sign of him anywhere.
Wait, what's...that!? Some strange armored army is attacking.....Atlantis? Not my clearly not my realm, but it looks somewhat familiar enough to possibly be my Atlantis. Maybe we're stuck in the past? Either way, I have feeling whatever's going on there has something to do with my evil brother. Has to....."

And just like that, now Aquaman enters the fray.

So,

VS.

Attuma/Ocean Master

So, Who Would Win?: The Question VS. The Answer

Been on a bit of a spending spree online on Amazon lately.
First I bought a Marvel Select Venom figure,who to me, is THE default Venom figure currently out there on the market.

And yes he comes with all you see here, the multiple heads, hands, and Madness Venom "backpack" snap-on accessory. He's about 7-inches tall, so he'll appropriately tower over my Spider-Man figures.

Then I ordered a Joker figure from the DC Collectibles B:TAS line of figures.

He comes with all you see here, leaping straight out of that one episode with Captain Clown,

The Last Laugh.

http://www.itsalltrue.net/ has several reviews of certain figures from this line and the New Adventures of Batman animated line as well if you're interested in checking them out.

I doubt I'll buy all of the figures from those lines, but I do have my eye on a few, like the Batman one, Robin, Mr. Freeze, and maybe the Man-Bat. 

Then I ordered a loose DCUC Copperhead from Amazon.

Can't wait to finally cross him off my list, since he's a pretty cool figure. 

Then I just ordered the new DC Icons Batman figure, so I can't wait to get him as well.

He comes with everything you see here, and is a tad smaller compared to DCUC and Marvel Legend, that often measure out to 6 and quarter to 6 and 3-quarter inches in height. 

These figures are exactly 6 inches though, so it'll look kinda' funny standing next to my other Batman figures on my shelf.

And now onto this week's edition of So, Who Would Win? as I pit what has to be the two most obvious and serendipitously-named opponents against each other, as I pit the Question against The Answer.


On one hand, you have Vic Sage, The Question. He's a just your average DC vigilante with a false-face mask as his main gimmick.


On the other, you have the Answer. He's a villain with the ability to adapt and counteract any form of attack against him with a particular super power/ability that will cancel out said attack.
So for example if the situation calls for it, he can demonstrate the ability to shoot fire from his hands, flight, and basically any power or ability he needs according to that specific situation.
Now he has to study and access the situation beforehand in order to pick the appropriate response or "answer" to the current problem, but once he does, for the span of about five minutes, he can cause his opponent all sorts of trouble.
Think of him like being the super-powered equivalent of the old DC villain, the Calculator, and you get the idea.

Oh, and thanks to the specially designed body armor he wears, he's basically like former mob boss John Gotti, the "Teflon Don", because nothing can stick to him.

So there you go, a man who eternally seeks the truth and answers, against the guy who's a living answer/response to any attack against him.
