So, Who Would Win?: Animal Man VS. Kraven The Hunter

Welcome to the first edition of So, Who Would Win? of 2017, as I pit two comic book characters with similar-ish animal themed-abilities and powers against each other.

First up is Animal Man, Buddy Baker He's your typically classic super-hero with a wife and family, and definitely not the big leagues like say Superman or Batman. But as writers like Grant Morrison proved, that doesn't mean he's not a credible and interesting hero in his own right.



With the ability to mimic any animal's natural ability due to being in close proximity of said animal or just being able to recall said ability through a mental Rolodex file, Animal Man is exactly the type of super-hero that his opponent in today's fight would uh, fight.

Kraven the Hunter was already the of the greatest and deadliest of hunters when he was given a mysterious potion that enhanced his natural skill and abilities and raised them to a superhuman level.
So now he can go around and wrestle big animals like bears or rhinos to the ground with relative ease.


In my scenario, someone's hired Kraven to take out Buddy. He's either important due to this mysterious benefactor wanting his access to his powers by having Buddy captured and brought to him or her, or just to test out the full extent of Buddy's powers. Either way, someone's sicced Kraven on our boy Buddy, and it'll be a very intense battle regardless of the duration.

And hey, Buddy's kinda' like the DC version of Spider-Man.....Kinda'......

So, Who Would Win?: The Golden Age Manhunter VS. Kraven the Hunter

Happy Hump Day!!!!





This edition of So, Who Would Win? came to me Monday evening when I glanced at my shelf of figures, and spied the DC Direct Golden Age Manhunter figure. The one with his 70's look?

Yeah, him.

He used to be a rich, big-time game hunter named Paul Kirk who spent his days traveling all over the world hunting animals, 'till he got bored one day ans decided to hunt humans instead, specifically criminals.

He didn't have any super-powers or abilities other than just being a damn good hunter and fit for his height and weight.



Later during the 70's when legendary creators Archie Goodwin and Walt Simonson, they upgraded Paul's fighting skills by having him to be taught martial arts as well as with other various weapons.

Then there's Kraven. We already know the deal with him, big game hunter who's herbally enhanced with a healing factor or and super-human speed, strength and agility.

In the the battle of the big-game hunters, who's the ultimate predator, and who's the ultimately the prey?

So, Who Would Win?: B'Wana Beast VS. Kraven The Hunter

Alright kids, here's a unique match up for this week's edition of So, Who Would Win?, as I pit one of DC Comics' oddest heroes in direct opposition in the form of B'Wana Beast against  one of Marvel's least successful hunters, Kraven the Hunter.


So here's the deal on both combatants:

-B'wana Beast's deal:

B'Wana Beast is 6'6" and weighs 285lbs when he has his powers, otherwise he's normally 6'0" and 190lbs sans powers.

B'Wana got his powers from drinking the mystical natural waters of Mt. Kilimanjaro,  which greatly increased his overall size, speed and strength to superhuman levels.
He can also communicate with animals via his red helmet, as well as trans-mutate two or more animals, to temporarily create a giant hybrid.

-Kraven the Hunter's deal:

Kraven is 6'0" and  weighs 236lbs.
"The son of a Russian aristocrat, Sergei found he had a great talent after finding employment in Africa. After meeting a witch doctor, Kraven took a herbal potion which enhanced his physical powers. He used his new found powers to further aid his big hunts."

So basically, Kraven was already one of the world's best hunters, but thanks those herbs, his normal attributes, such as speed, strength, etc, have been boosted to peak human levels, going into superhuman levels.

Powers-wise, it seems like B'Wana has the advantage, provided he has easy access to any variety of nearby animals that can he put to use, otherwise Kraven could very well have this in the bag if he can somehow negate Beast's other powers and abilities. Either way, this could be a hell of  a fight.

We'll definitely see.
