So I decided to try something new, or new-ish and try doing a new feature around here.
Not too long ago, like maybe a year back, I attempted to do these posts where I'd have certain teams or individual comic characters face off against each other Deathmatch-style.
I believe the first one was the JLA vs. the Squadron Supreme, which just seems like a natural considering the Squadron is a direct Marvel rip-off of the League.
So in the spirit of that, and an innocent suggestion by the ever wise Shlomo, who you can thank or blame, here's my match up of the week:
The Rogues vs. The Secret Six.
So, who'd you think and why?
Oh, and I can't forget the roster list for both teams:
The Rogues:
-Captain Cold
-Mirror Master
-Weather Wizard
-Captain Boomerang
-Heatwave
-The Trickster
The Secret Six:
-Deadshot
-Bane
-Catman
-Scandal Savage
-Banshee
-Ragdoll
See, that's an even and fair number for both sides. Let the debates begin.......NOW!
I'll let you guys know who I'd pick tomorrow, but feel more than free to leave your choices in the comments section on who'd win and why.
Now here's (sort of) a possible set-up:
Meanwhile we find the other players in this drama entering the stage now......
Well sneaky, sneaky me for sneaking in an almost full-blown skit in the middle of this thing;)
Sorry for the unexpected delay. It appears once again, that nature will always win out in the end against man's technology. I'm guessing the thick, humid air here is the main culprit for fucking with my Wi-Fi, despite blowing over $130 bucks on equipment so that wouldn't happen. Sigh.
Going for the hat trick as far as having three posts in a row with the letter B in the titles. And, no it's not intentional.
Today's skit features my 3 favorite and figure-handy members of Gail Simone's much loved Secret Six series. It's a damn shame were we live in a world where terrible, horrible comics like Deathstroke(not the character) and the current incarnation of the Suicide Squad are around, but not the Secret Six. Or hell even a decent Doom Patrol one. Well there was, but Didio and pals decided to ax it, you know, so that they could make room for that abortion of a comic event called Flashpoint. If they just wanted Batman and the Flash to share a tender moment, they didn't have to reboot an entire universe just to make that happen. I'm just saying is all.
Anyhoo, on with the show......
-Catman and Deadshot see a legless Bane crawling by.
Catman: "Whoa! What the hell happened to you Bane?
Bane: "Nothing to worry about Blake. This is merely a minor setback from my plan to break the Bat again."
Deadshot: "Uh, but your missing your legs. You're not breaking shit but a parking space until you get your legs back."
Bane: "I assure you Lawton, this is merely a scratch."
Catman: "Seriously man, your what about your fucking legs? I thought with the crazy amount of money made from that recent Batman movie, you'd at least afford a decent pair of legs."
Bane: "A mere flesh wound Blake!. And no, I did not see a dime from that accursed movie. A fact I shall remedy as soon as possible. Good day gentlemen."
Catman: "You believe that shit?"
Deadshot: "Hardcore man; hard-fucking-core!
So, you want to grab a burger?"
Catman: "Sure. All this amputee drama's strangely making me hungry."
Yeah I went there, want to fight about it?
And here's the ironic song choice of the day. I think it fits the topic well, don't you:)
It's Katrina and the Waves, with "Walking on sunshine."
Well with the threat of Hurricane Irene looming on the East coast, at least for the poor bastards in NC, I figured I'd post another blog.
As a continuation from my last post, we saw Catman and Deadshot break out of prison. They were on the run, and looking to recruit more guys to rebuild the Secret Six. Let's see what they've been up to since.
Oh, and why do they call themselves the Secret Six if everybody knows who they are? Yeah I know technically they can't and probably won't use the Suicide Squad name, but still.....
Just a quick one today folks.
Recently visited Wal-mart and was surprised to see DCUC Wave 18's Samurai figure amidst some Wave 14 peg-warmers like Zatanna, Kamandi, and Tyr. I was really deadset against him, but up close, he looks pretty damn good!
Then I went to K-Mart and saw Sodom Yat. I was really surprised, and would have gotten him, but then I saw Catman from the new Batman Legacy line. I was truly surprised that my local K- Mart would even think about carrying this line. Well, I got him, so know the Secret Six has 2 full members, well 2 and half if you count having Bane's right arm.
So with that in mind, here's my new humble sketch:
Free shout-out and plug for David H's site, Subject: The Suicide Squad. It's got all the info you'd want and more, so feel free to check it out.

Just a quick one today folk.
Like my buddy Googum@ random happenstance, and countless others, I question the wisdom of DC/Dan Didio in choosing to cancel Gail Simone's Secret Six. Sure DC/Didio will claim that the combination of low numbers/poor sales and the massive DCU reboot is responsible, and to that they'll always have a point. Still, in light of the fact that there's going to be a few cancellations from the upcoming "52", we should all pay close attention to how well BoP and Fury of Firestorm does. If they don't make the grade, and Suicide Squad fails(which it probably will due to fan backlash) than I don't see why Secret Six can't come back. Sure, we all have to wait and see how the various team members get rebooted, especially the fates of Bane, Catman, and the others, but for now at least there's the TPB's to keep us warm at nights.
I admit, I'm a new fan myself, and have a bunch of catch-up to do. But I must say due to various positive rave reviews and reading various spoilers, I all aboard the SS express. Ugh, that's not going to look good.
Here's your zen moment of the day, a.k.a. enjoy the crappy pictures.
