It's that time again. Time for another fucking edition of

You know I've always wondered about this particular match up and how a fight would go down between two ring bearers like Hal and the Mandarin. I mean both combatants are rocking super-powered rings via alien technology and the will power to use them.

Also if you think about it both rings can pretty much do anything the wearer uses their imagination to make them do.





Let's look at their respective stats shall we?

-Green Lantern:

Abilities	Trained aircraft pilot Power ring grants: Generation of hard-light constructs Flight Force fields

-The Mandarin:

Abilities	Superb athlete Superhumanly skilled martial artist Brilliant and brutal tactician Gifted strategist Genius-level intellect Wears ten rings that grant various powers

And of course there's always the little matter of their rings as well.....

We all know what Hal's ring can do, but do you know all the things that the Mandarin's rings can do?

Little finger	Ice Blast/"Zero" The ring emits waves of cold which can be used to stun an opponent. The ring usually causes the moisture in the air in the path of its blast to turn to ice, and can lower an object's temperature to nearly absolute zero. The gem is shaped like multiple small cylindrical capsules, colored blue-white.	Black Light/"Nightbringer" The ring can create an area of absolute blackness that seems to absorb all light used within it. Although "black light" is a term used to refer to ultraviolet radiation, the darkness created by the ring is probably a form of the "Darkforce." The gem is shaped like four tiny black-blue dots, arranged in a square shape in groups of two.
Ring Finger	Mento-Intensifier/"The Liar" The ring magnifies the wearer's own psionic energy, allowing him to place one or more people under his mental control and to transmit orders to them mentally. Most frequently used to create illusions. The gem is shaped like a blue diamond/tilted square.	Disintegration Beam/"Spectral" The ring emits a beam of energy that destroys all bonds between the atoms and molecules of the object it strikes. This ring needs twenty minutes to recharge after use. The gem is shaped like a golden square.
Middle Finger	Electro-Blast/"Lightning" The ring emits electricity in amounts and intensities mentally determined by the wearer. The maximum current attainable is not known. The gem is shaped like an angled green line.	Vortex Beam/"Spin" The ring causes the air to move about at high speed in a vortex. The vortex can be used as an offensive weapon, as a means of levitating objects, or as a means of propelling the ring's wearer through the air. The gem is shaped like a simple blue circle.
Index Finger	Flame Blast/"Incandescence" The ring emits infrared radiation or heat at intensities mentally determined by the wearer. Usually the heat produces flame through incandescing the molecules in the air in the path of the blast. The heat beam can be used to trigger chemical explosions. The maximum amount of heat it can generate is not known. The gem is shaped similarly to the ice blast ring, but with four capsules and a red color.	Impact Beam/"Influence" This ring can project various forms of energy, most frequently that of fast neutrons with great concussive force. The ring has also been used to project intense sonic vibrations and to create magnetic waves to attract or repel objects. The ring may be capable of emitting other forms of energy as well, and has been used to send Iron Man slamming through a mountain. The gem is shaped like a star, colored purple (or red).
Thumb	White Light/"Daimonic" This ring can emit various forms of energy along the electromagnetic spectrum. Has been used to create gravity powerful enough to make Iron Man bury himself by trying to walk forward. The gem is shaped like two white circles, set in gold (almost like a pair of eyes).	Matter Rearranger/"Remaker" This ring can rearrange the atoms and molecules of a substance, or speed up or slow down their movement, so as to produce various effects. The ring has been used to condense water vapor in the air to liquid water, to solidify gasses, to create lethal poison gas from the air, to turn a group of men to stone, to turn a man into a beetle, to turn a mountain into a rock-monster, and to make a stone hand large enough to engulf Iron Man's body erupt from the floor. The ring cannot transmute elements or rearrange the atoms and molecules of Iron Man's magnetic-beam reinforced armor. The gem is shaped like a small purple circle.

Yeah, so all those things can be done with those rings. But it really makes we wonder if Hal can't do all those things and then some with just one ring.

So, Who Would Win?: Kyle Rayner Green Lantern VS. Vengeance

TGIT!!!!!!!

Welcome to another exciting edition of So, Who Would Win?, where I pit comic characters and/or teams of comic characters against each other to fight it out for my own personal amusement and ask who would win.

Today's going to be a battle of two 90's replacement heroes as I force Kyle Rayner to go one-on-one with Vengeance.

Kyle, in case you didn't already know, became the replacement Green Lantern for the more recognizable GL Hal Jordan after the events of Emerald Twilight, where Jordan turned heel after the destruction of Coast City (don't worry it got better years later) during the whole "Reign of Superman" business.
Kyle was a major departure character and personality-wise from Hal, as it seemed he was completely chosen at random by Ganthet, whereas Hal at least met certain requirements to become a space cop.
Eventually after a lot of trials and error, Kyle grew into the role as Green Lantern and was eventually accepted by fandom as Green Lantern and a worthy successor to Hal.

Vengeance is another story altogether.
Michael Badillino sold his soul to Mephisto in order gain power to get revenge against Ghost Rider, who he thought was the demon Zarathos, the being responsible for destroying his family. Eventually he found out the truth and started working with Ghost Rider rather than against him. Not too long after though, Ghost Rider was believed dead by the world during a rather intense battle with Zarathos himself and his acolytes. In the aftermath, Vengeance decided to replace Ghost Rider and even referred to himself as Ghost Rider and demanded others refer to him as such as well.
Eventually the real Ghost Rider returned, and reclaimed his mantle.

Ok so I know what you're probably thinking; Kyle's redonkulously overpowered and would easily make short work of Vengeance in a fight. Well maybe, if it was the current, experienced Kyle. But that's not the Kyle I chose for this fight. Instead I'm using rookie Kyle who was new to the whole superhero business, and thus was learning on the job as to the nature of the ring's abilities and limitations.

That I figured, would make things more fair between the two and make things a hell of a lot more interesting.

Let's briefly compare their respective stats shall we?

-Kyle Rayner:

Abilities	Use of power ring grants: Generation of hard-light constructs Force fields Space travel Flight Real-time translation of all-languages

-Vengeance: 

Abilities	Immense superhuman strength, stamina, agility, reflexes, endurance and durability Immune to most Non Magical Attack Invulnerability to heat and flame Ability to project regular and ethereal flame Ability to travel between interdimensional realms and along any surface Wields magical chain Rides flaming motorcycle "Penance Stare"

So yeah, basically Green Lanterns VS. Ghost Rider, albeit an inexperienced GL against a more brutal version of Ghost Rider.

This should be fun.

So, Who Would Win?: Green Lantern Vs. Witchblade

Welcome to an unexpected edition of So, Who Would Win? Where I pit two individuals or teams from the comics world against each other and see who wins.

I say unexpected, but not really. No, I had this idea brewing ever since last week and even contemplated dedicating a whole week to that particular theme. Idk, maybe next week?

Anyhoo, today's combatants are Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern and Sara Pezzini, Witchblade.


Now right off the bat, I should almost give this one to Witchblade because she's a hot chick who wears very little, which is just how Hal likes 'em.


   
Seriously, we all know how is other weakness isn't just yellow, it's hot-looking women. One look at Sara, and game over for Hal.

Plus they're both cops, (Well Sara used to be, bur for this purpose of this story let's just say she still is) so they at least have that in common.

Well that and the fact that they both wield ancient weapons that responds (for the most part) to the wearer/user's wishes.




In addition to that fact, while both Hal and Sara are not the original bearers of both weapons, they are the ones most well-known and associated with those weapons.


Alright let's compare their stats then shall we?

-Green Lantern:

Abilities	Trained aircraft pilot Power ring grants: Generation of hard-light constructs Flight Force fields

• As a Green Lantern, Hal Jordan is semi-invulnerable, capable of projecting hard-light constructions, flight, and utilizing various other abilities through his power ring which are only limited by his imagination and willpower. Jordan, as a Green Lantern, has exceptional willpower.

-Witchblade:

Abilities	Symbiotic armor

• As the host of the Witchblade, she was granted a vast array of supernatural abilities, such as; forming various weapons (swords, other stabbing weapons, hooks, chains, shields), jump to heights higher than most humans could jump to, generate a full body armor in order to protect herself, increase her strength to abnormal levels that exceed 500 pounds (should the situation arise, she can also form wings allowing flight), shoot energy blasts from the gauntlet, fire projectile darts, and whip-like grapples to attack or to climb. The Witchblade is also an excellent lock pick, and can heal wounds, even near-fatal ones. The Witchblade can re-animate the dead, empathically show the host scenes of great trauma, and allow the host to relive experiences from past hosts as dreams.
  The Witchblade is also known to be able to damage incorporeal beings and is capable of slaying other-dimensional entities and immortal deities (such as Bastet). It also has the ability to control and manipulate the elements. The Witchblade can slow, stop, and even turn back time.

Damn, I didn't know she could affect time like that. Imagine of she knew that Hal has to recharge his ring every 24 hours. If so, she could possibly reverse the previous 24 hours, and leave the ring in need of charging. Or not, but it is a thought.

You can definitely file this under the tagline of my old features, What The Fuck Where They Thinking!?

Speaking of pedos, I don't know if you guys have seen this or not, but Vice News (of the Vice Network) tweeted a video of Sasha Baron Cohen (Borat, Ali G) interviewing Alabamian judge Republican Roy Moore.

What makes the interview so noteworthy (Cohen has a parody show called Where In America?) is how Cohen tricked Moore into the interview in order to fuck with him and call him a pervert without directly coming out and saying it.

Fantasy Team-Up: Green Lantern and Phoenix

Yes I'm actually posting on a Friday. What can I say, I had some extra free time on my hands and I was creatively restless. Sue me.

Today, as a bit of a follow up to yesterday's post, I'm teaming Hal and the Phoenix together.

How and why you might?

My particular scenario involves going all the way back to the Dark Phoenix Saga, specifically that pivotal moment in time when the X-Men were forced to fight the Shi'ar Imperial Guard for the life of their teammate Jean Grey( who they didn't know at the time, really wasn't Jean at all but the Phoenix entity posing as her)

Let's say for the sake argument, all the X-Men have been downed and neutralized during the fight, even Cyclops himself being the last to fall. Jean, the Phoenix, knows she's next, or rather she'll be forced to tap into her Phoenix force powers and become the Dark Phoenix again. Knowing she doesn't want this to happen at all, she sends out a mental beacon for help that traverses through this universe, and many others....before finally reaching across the great multi-universal divide.....and finding a nearby space cop, the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan.

Hal just happens to be in the right place and the right time, seeing as how he just busted an attempted alien slave trade ring near Earth. Its in the midst of cleaning all that up, that the Phoenix' mental beacon hits both him and his power ring.

"Help Me! Please! Before....it's too late....too late....Please! Arrgggh!"

"Whoa, what the hell was that? Felt like a woman...in pain...desperate for help. Someone, someones...are attacking her. Hurting her! I don't know who she is or why she's being attacked, but that's not going to stop me from finding out."


And off  Hal goes towards the source of the beacon.

Meanwhile, the remaining members of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard are circling Jean/Phoenix. They're just about to press their attack as Jean/Phoenix can fell herself slipping quickly into becoming the dreaded Dark Phoenix again.


But just as that's about to happen, in flies a very pissed, albeit confused, Hal on the way to save the girl and the day.

Hal doesn't know who and what he's protecting or what evil force could be unleashed if he's successful in his rescue mission.....

But fight on he does, with Jean/Phoenix by his side, as they make quick work of the already battle-fatigued but highly persistent Shi'ar Imperial Guard. It's at that moment that Jean/Phoenix looks around at the chaotic aftermath of the battle, as she sees the fallen (but not dead) forms of her teammates and those of her enemies laying out before her.


 She picks up Gladiator, and starts to mock him and how he ever though he and his Imperial Guard thought they could ever hope to be a match for the Phoenix.


It's at that moment that Hal goes from being excited and relieved, to feeling very quickly growing bad feeling gnawing at his heart and mind. His power ring confirms his fear by glowing and sending a huge warning to his brain that the shit's about to go down now.

It's then, after effortlessly vanquishing both Gladiator and his Imperial Guard permanently that Hal suddenly realizes he backed the wrong person in this fight. He unwittingly helped the Dark Phoenix.....and she's pissed and ready to consume the entire Shi'ar planet!!!!



Annnnnnnnnnnd it's here where we get the Parallax/Dark Phoenix fight from yesterday.

See? everything all wrapped up in a nice, tight bow.
