Bird-Watching

What's up people?

Hey, who's interested in an all-new skit?
Of course you. Enjoy...

If you didn't already know, last Friday was my 36th birthday, and to celebrate I took my happy ass to Dave and Buster's the next town away. I had a lot of fun drinking and playing arcade games all night with my girlfriend, my sister and her boyfriend as the place stays open from 11am to 2am. Gotta' love those hours.

Before all that I hit up a good bit of the comic stores they had around town, catching up on all the issues of Jeff Lemire's Moon Knight series (the only current Marvel series I still bother to follow) along with the latest issue of Doom Patrol with killer Mike Allred art. I did also happen to buy two of one-shot specials for the whole Scott Synder Metal event, snatching up The Forge and The Casting. At $5 a piece they're expensive, but decent for what you get in terms of art and story.
It's setting up the return of Hawkman and as well as some other characters not seen much since the Phew 52 started, like Plastic Man (who's joining a new Batman-assembled team, The Terrifics, led by Mr. Terrific)

It looks good, and it supposed to be "fun", but we'll see.

I also picked up a the Bullet Points TPB by J. Michael Straczynski and Neil Edwards, and the TPB of Grant Morrison and J.G. Jones' Marvel Boy mini-series, and all for half off the cover price.

Finally, I ordered the new Marvel Legend Netflix wave Bullseye and Death's Head II from the recent ML GoTG wave.

Damn they're sweet!!!!

Dream Waves: Peter David's X-FACTOR

TGIT!!!!!!!
And Happy Birthday to me.......yay.....

Ha ha, in honor of my birthday, I figured I'd write another edition of one of my favorite columns, Dream Waves.

Today I'm focusing on Peter David's X-FACTOR, with not just one wave, but two.

That's right kids, you're getting both his popular 90's X-FACTOR team, but the modern ones as well....The one run by Jamie Maddrox, not his last corporate-run incarnation .

So, here they are Hasbro, free of charge, two waves' worth of figures........

- PAD X-FACTOR Wave 1 (90's):

1).  Havok

His '90's Toy Biz was one of my favorite figures. I'd love to see a Marvel Legends version to go along with his other figures.

2). Polaris

We're finally getting a Polaris figure in the next ML X-MEN wave, but it's not this look.
We need a Polaris figure in this look.

3). The Multiple Man

Can definitely have different versions of this guy, and I will show off his modern look next time, but this round it's his classic X-FACTOR look that deserves to be made first.

4). Wolfsbane

Definitely needs to include an alternative wolf head and hands.

5). Classic Quicksilver

Yes folks, believe it or not Quicksilver was once a member.... twice!

6). Random

You kinda' have to include him don't you? Plus there's a presidency there, since he had a Toy Biz figure in the '90's.

7). Forge

Why not Forge? He was due a re-do anyways.

BAF: Strong Guy

You knew, you just KNEW, a big guy like Strong Guy needed to be a BAF.
I'd love to a killer modern take on that Strong Guy Toy Biz figure from the '90's.

And here's some proof that it can be done Hasbro....

But wait!!!! There's more.....next time, I'll lay out my second wave of X-FACTOR figures, with the popular modern roster.

That's me for this week.
Have a damn good weekend people....I know I will.

"Cheer Down"

Happy Hump Day!
What's up people?

Just got back from the beach, Myrtle Beach, to be exact.
Simply put, it was a great, much-needed break, that like all great breaks, never last long.

I'll spare you the default tourist/boyfriend-girlfriend pics snapped via cell phone, but suffice to say,
not a bad way to spend turning 33.

You know who's not happy? Wolverine.
Heard a rumor he's dying "for real" this year, and for various reasons, he'll be taken off the never-ending wheel of countless appearance that's made up most of Wolverine's life.

Here's his thoughts on all this.....

Bonus points to those that knew that.

And extra bonus cool points to those who know that today's skit title is taken from a George Harrison song. But from what movie? Lethal Weapon 2.

Thanks George, ol' son.

Meme Mondays: Dan Didio and Friends.....

TGIM?

Ok, maybe not.

So how was the weekend for you guys?
Mine was pretty damn good.

It was my birthday yesterday, so I did it up right.
Went and got a tattoo, and yes, I found a place open on Sundays. I was surprised too, but I really, really wanted one for birthday, so that's what I did.

And here's what it looks like:

Now I told the guy that did it, that I wanted blue highlights to add shade and depth. I probably should've been more descriptive since he put that blue boarder around it, but it still looks good to me, And it's Batman. 'Nuff Said.

Oh and here's the rest of my Birthday swag from others family and friends:

So all in all, a damn good day!

So, today's Meme Mondays. Let's get cracking shall we?

Misc:

Finally, just wanted to say again, thanks to everyone for the well wishes and birthday shout outs. I really appreciate it guys;)

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
