"No More Bendis"

Well, if you haven't heard about it by now, Bendis has officially left Marvel Comics, where he's worked for over 17 years, and left to go work exclusively for the enemy, DC Comics.

I'm shocked myself, considering just how long Bendis has lived and breathed Marvel, so to step outside that world and immerse himself in another.....wow.

Depending on who you ask, it's either a big win for DC fans and a big loss for Marvel fans, or it could be viewed as the reverse, Bendis's stuff as of late, was stale and boring, and too formulaic/paint by numbers, even for Bendis, so so far, the reactions have been in favor of Bendis leaving.

I'm sure there are those DC fans who are screaming "NOOOOOOO!" much like Captain Kirk did during the Wraith of Kahn.

After all, DC's just now getting their shit together with their recent Rebirth, so why fuck that up with someone like Bendis?

No word on who he's working on yet, but I imagine we'll find out either by the end of the year or the start of 2018.

Personally I'm glad Marvel finally said...

Maybe they hopefully heal from the years and damage of Bendisitis the House has suffered for all these years.
Perhaps it's telling just how far Bendis' stock int he company had fallen since his days as its undisputed golden boy, that they're letting him leave now after all this time.

It'll damn sure be interesting how Marvel develops/changes all the popular characters he's created for them, like Miles Morales and Jessica Jones.

They're still proven money-makers, and going into the future, I don't see Marvel messing with that right now, especially with the whole Defenders Netflix thing going on.

Now the time-displaced teen X-Men's days are probably coming to and end with the returns of regular 616 Wolverine and Adult Jean Grey, but to what extent, I don't know.

So yeah, get ready to see the Justice League doing the infamous Bendis Talking Heads ad nauseum.

You know it's coming;)

"What's So Civil About War Anyways?"

Happy Hump Day!!!!

I don't know if you heard the news yet, but apparently this is happening:

Yup Marvel's officially, and finally, ran out of original ideas. I mean I guess you say that's certainly been the case for some time now, but yeah, Marvel's really stepping up they're trolling game on fans this time.

And yeah, I'm sure they justify it by trying to seem clever for timing this in-sync with the movie version of the first one, but still.....Just...no....

And you know who's writing this disaster?

Why the one and only Brian fucking Bendis of course!

Do they just not have any faith in any one of their many capable writers on staff, or was Hickman's work deemed so sophisticated and intricate, that the creative powers that be at Marvel decided they and the fans needed a mega-dose of Bendis to cleanse their reading palates?

I just don't get it. Why are they not even trying to be different and original anymore? Why are both companies driving away very creatively diverse artists and writers away in droves in favor of mass-produced homogenization and mediocrity?
You'd think a company, famed for being the "House of Ideas" from the very beginning wouldn't be in short supply of them.
Not anymore it seems, and it's been that way for long while.

I have no issues with the Civil War movie. It looks damn good based off the trailer alone. And of course I'm fine with the minor cinematic adjustments made for the movie. It's what's to be expected at this point. At least we'll finally be able to see Crossbones and Baron Zemo on a movie screen. But this whole sequel business? Naaaaaw. Hard pass brah.

I feel bad for the hardcore Iron Man fans though.
They've just had to endure two or three years of Tony being a villain again not so long after his last stint as one during the original Civil War almost ten years ago.

What do you say to them? "Hang in there, it'll get better?"

Not anytime soon by the looks of it....

"I Feel That Ice Is Slowly Melting"

File this skit under "T" for Topical....

The End

Yep, in case you haven't been surfing the web, Bendis outed the younger Iceman in All-New X-Men#40.
So yeah, he's gay now. Which I guess shouldn't be a big deal since rumors of Iceman being gay have been around for years. It's just that its done really for shock value, and to "show diversity."

Well they ever learn?

Oh, and BTW, yes, Kity Pryde did agree to marry Starlord. Fat chance that'll do him since Battleworld has already interuppted those nuptials,, and replace his Kitty, witht the more agressive Age of Apocalypse version. Good luck on that one Peter.

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
