"He-Bop"

I've always wanted to do a skit like this every since I got my hands on a H.E.R.B.I.E. figure. And then the new Walgreens' exclusive ML Thing figure came out, and it all came together so I can present you all with this.....

Well....I guess that means Ben didn't make it past No-Nut November after all.
Can't say I blame him either though. Have you see the amount of She-Hulk porn on the internet!?
Yeah......

So, Who Would Win?: The Fantastic Four VS. Ra's Al Guhl

This one came about due to a random idea about my DUH moment epiphany I talked about yesterday.
Well following that train of thought, for some reason I thought about what would happen if the FF ever fought Ra's Al Guhl of all people....

So yeah basically I pitted the FF against Ra's Al Guhl in my head.

Hey, it's not that bad people. Ra's is basically Dr. Doom minus the armor, Doom-bots, magical powers, obsession with killing the FF, Reed Richards in particular, and facial scar.

Yes, the results won't look good for a fair fight, but just wait until you cast judgement.

-The Fantastic Four:

  • Mr. Fantastic:

Abilities
  • Genius-level intellect
  • Extreme superhuman elasticity, malleability, and endurance
  • Resistance to most physical assaults and electricity
  • Virtual immunity to psychic powers

  • The Invisible Woman:

Abilities
  • Invisibility
  • Projective invisibility
  • Invisible force field projection (which bestows the ability to generate protective invisible shields and invisible energy constructs, as well as the power to control and manipulate objects)

  • The Human Torch:

Abilities
  • Pyrokinesis
  • Fiery form that enables flight, serves as damage shield
  • Heat energy absorption
  • Resistance to extreme heat

  • The Thing:

Abilities
  • Skilled street fighter and hand to hand combatant
  • Superhuman strength, stamina and durability
  • Rock-like skin
  • Excellent dexterity
  • Above-average reflexes
  • Enhanced lung capacity

And now Ra's turn....

-Ra's Al Guhl:
Abilities
  • criminal and terrorist mastermind
  • Skilled martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant
  • Skilled alchemist and swordsman
  • Longevity from Lazarus Pits

Again FF definitely has the advantage here power-wise, but again, look what Ra's was able to accomplish during Tower of Babel. Not to mention his vast network of resources and money, plus having the League of Assassins doesn't hurt either.

I'm not saying he'd win the war, but he'd definitely win a few battles.

So,

The Fantastic Four

VS.

Ra's Al Guhl

Who wins and why?
Maybe the answer's not as clear cut as it may seem....

File this under having a DUH Epiphany moment, but it really and truly occurred to me recently that while the X-Men and Doom Patrol both share a lot similarities, especially since they were billed as "The World's Strangest Heroes" by their respective publishers.

No, what they really have more in common with is another popular Marvel group, the very first one actually, the Fantastic Four.

Yup, the good ol' FF.

If you think about it, it really makes sense.

  • The Chief is Reed without the Love of Sue and a family, all ego and knowledge, and incredibly more manipulative.
  • Rita is Sue, the normal looking token chick in the group who plays the mother role to Cliff and Larry.
  • Larry is basically Johnny, right down to the flaming form that flies. Except he's a prisoner to special bandages and his Negative Man.
  • Cliff is the gruff, but lovable uncle figure who's suffered the most due to no longer being human. A brain (what's left of his humanity and original body) buried deep in a metal shell, a monstrous looking sight to many.

And yet for all their dysfunction, the shared way that they received their powers from horrible accidents and a penchant for attracting weird villains, they're a family.
A fucked up family, but a family nonetheless.

I will say, personally, I miss the Chief that was a bit of an asshole, but not a total manipulative son of a bitch who was revealed to ultimately be the guy who directly caused, or help cause, the accidents that made them the way they are now.

That seems to be another thing the X-Men and Doom Patrol have in common; they both have leaders/father figures that were later ret-conned into being evil. manipulative bastards.

Proof once again that not all retcons were created equal or worth creating in the first place.

"Getcha' Wallpaper! Getcha' Free Wallpaper Here!"

Been messing around with both of the free Photoshop-like programs I use a lot, Paint.Net and GIMP to make my own custom comic book wallpapers all this weekend.

Just something to do to set those creative juices loose you know?

Take 'em if you want 'em.....

Trust me, there's more to come.....

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
