Dead Head

Hey People, what's up?

So how was your Christmas? Get everything, or just about everything you wanted? If not, can you at least return what you didn't want for what you do?

I can't complain myself 'cause I already treated myself earlier this month, so anything I got for Christmas was a happy bonus.
I'll post pics of all the stuff I got tomorrow, but thanks to my mom getting me an Amazon gift card, I was able to order you guess it, more figures. Three to be exact; the new Marvel Legends Spider-Man wave Jackal, Shocker, and Green Goblin. Can't wait to get them, but more than likely it'll be during the first week of January, thus disqualifying them from my year end collection photo shoot.

In a bit of very sad news, beloved singer and pop icon George Michael died yesterday.
he was only 53. So young still.

The reports have yet to be released at this time, but the press stated that his death, so far, was ruled unexplained, but not suspicious. Goddamn I can't even begin to tell you how much his music and that unique voice of his meant to me growing up and even still to today. For me he was just blessed with such a beautiful voice. Damn. To me, up until his death, he was one of the very minute few to me, who could ever hope to match Freddy Mercury's voice range, or sing his songs and not sound off.

He'll truly, truly be missed.

RIP George Michael
(1963-2016)

Speaking of death though...

NEW SKIT TIME!!!!
Today's new skit features Deadpool (yes again) and Deadman, specifically the DC Icons series Deadman.

Enjoy.....

He's ever so spooky isn't he kids? ;)

And to be fair to 'Pool, he's got a point. seriously look at that pair of big, pale white butt cheeks he's got for a melon!

"Stepping Into Christmas"

TGIF!!!!

Ready for Christmas yet? Ha ha, well it doesn't matter if you are or not, 'cause come Sunday, it's coming anyways;)

With that being said, I know it's that time of the year when I hear certain Christmas songs. You know, because we all have our favorite we actually don't mind listening to and even look forward to hearing when this time of the year rolls around.
Here's a short list of my top 10 all-time favorite Christmas Songs:

10).  Jose Feliciano - "Feliz Navidad"

Teaching gringos like me everywhere, how to say "Merry Christmas" in Spanish.

9). Brenda Lee - "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree"

It's a true classic no doubt about that. I just happen to enjoy her version the most.

8). Billy Squire - "Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You"

Finally a rocking Christmas song that's exactly as old as I am. Thanks early MTV years;)

7). Band-Aid - "Do They Know It's Christmas Time At All?"

Recorded over 30 years ago, and it's still a classic Christmas song to play during the holidays.

6). Elton John - "Stepping Into Christmas"

You can never go wrong with an Elton John Christmas song, especially this one during, or about during, the height of his career in the 70's.

5). George Michael/Wham - "Last Christmas"

Yeah it's a Christmas song that's also a break up song, but shit, it's George Michael and Wham people!

4). Paul McCartney and Wings - "Wonderful Christmastime"

It's exactly the type of song Sir Paul would write, and it's alright with me.

3). John Lennon - "Happy X-Mas"

How could you not love this classic Christmas song that doubles as an anti-war song? And it's Fucking John Lennon!

2). Nat King Cole - "O Holy Night"

1). Nat King Cole - "Merry Christmas"

I don't what it is exactly about his immortally velvety voice, but I know whenever I hear those two Christmas songs of his, the tears start welling up in my eyes. Always, without fail.

Anyways, that's me for this week.
I'll be back bright and early, well not THAT bright and early, next week....

So, from all of us here from Mr. Morbid's House of Fun, we wish you all, a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy Holidays.....

So, Who Would Win?: WildC.A.T.S. VS. Cyberforce

TGIT!!!!

Just as the title of today's post proudly proclaims, I've pitting two very X-Men-like superhero teams against each other in a ball's out, no-holds-barred fight to be the last team standing.

In one corner are the WildC.A.T.S., Jim Lee's first superhero team franchise he launched at Image Comics back in 1992.

If you didn't already know, the WildC.A.T.S, which stands for Covert Action Teams.
They were comprised of a ragtag bunch of half-breed alien, alien robot, and enhanced humans formed to fight of an alien invasion.
The team was pretty popular back in the day, scoring figures, a game and even a short-lived animated series.
Like all teams it had it's own various line-ups and members over the years, before Jim Lee sold them and his entire Wildstorm Universe to DC Comics back in 1998.
Despite numerous start ups and tries since then, they never quite re-captured their 90's glory, and sadly sit in purgatory hell, waiting for Jim Lee to finally shine on them with favor, and actually do something meaningful with them,

Well maybe sooner rather than later, seeing as how Jim Lee had tapped popular comic writer Warren Ellis to reboot and relaunch them and the entire Wildstorm Universe for next year, so we'll see how it goes.

And you should already know Cyberforce's deal when I featured them here a few weeks ago, when they faced off against the 90's X-Men Blue team.

Here's the link if you haven't already seen it:
http://dbsuniverse.blogspot.com/2016/12/so-who-would-win-x-men-blue-team-vs.html

As you can clearly see, they really looked a lot alike back in their first formative years, which I guess couldn't be helped seeing as how both Lee and Cyberforce's creator Marc Silvestri shared the same art studio, Homage Studios, together back when these teams were created,

Here's how the rosters of these two teams stack up against each other:

WildC.A.T.S.:

-Lord Emp
-Spartan
-Grifter
-Void
-Voodoo
-Zealot
-Warblade
-Maul

Cyberforce:

-Heatwave
-Ripclaw
-Ballistic
-Velocity
-Stryker
-Cyblade
-Impact

So,

WildC.A.T.S.

VS.

Cyberforce

Who wins and why?

Dream Waves: DC Golden Age Characters

Happy Hump Day!!!!

For last week's edition of Dream Waves, I laid out my plan for using Marvel's golden age characters in their Marvel Legends action figure line, finally giving those golden oldies their due as action figures.

Well today it's DC Comics' turn, as again I offer my plan for a couple waves' worth of Golden Age figures to be distributed in DC Multiverse line of figures, which is itself an unofficial continuation of the canceled and much-beloved by me DC Universe Classics or DCUC, line of DC action figures.

Even more so than Marvel, DC is a treasure trove of golden age heroes and villains, due to its long and very rich history that a big publisher like DC who has been in the business for over 80 years has amassed.

And yet so far very little of the golden age characters are finding representation as an action figure,
Well, hopefully someone in Mattel or someone influential sees this and decides to start letting characters like a Crimson Avenger or Liberty Belle.

So, here we go....

DC Golden Age Wave 1:

1). Johnny Quick

Here's some customs for an idea of what he could look like:

2). Liberty Belle

3). The Crimson Avenger

4). GA Robotman

5). Johnny Thunder and his pet Thunderbolt

6). GA Wonder Woman

7). Vandal Savage

DC Golden Age Wave 2:

1). Max Mercury

2). Firebrand

3). Amazing Man

4). Per Degaton

5). The Tarantula

6). The Icicle

7). GA Hawkgirl

DC Golden Age Wave 3:

1). Phantom Lady

2). The GA Ray

3). GA Black Condor

4). The Human Bomb

5). GA Superman

6). Doll Man

7). The Shade

DC Golden Age Wave 4:

1). The Jester

2). The Red Bee

3). The Wizard

4). Dr. Sivana w/ Mr. Mind

5). The Star-Spangled Kid

6). The Manhunter

7). The Golden Age Huntress/Tigress

That's what I got. Who you would you pick if you had to make a similar list?

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
