Turning Japanese? I don't think so!

Happy Election Day folks!

I'm still pretty much undecided myself whether I'll vote or not.  If I do, it'll be last minute and all write-ins, except for the legalization of Marijuana part, I'm all for that one:)

I don't have any Election Day jokes, but my buddy Googum does, so click on his link and see his funny-ass election day humor skits. And no, I'm not just pimping his blog because we're buddies; although it does help;)

I swear they're funny so go take a quick look-see.

Alright on to the main business at hand, as we take a look at a character we all thought we knew, but in reality didn't know jack about him. I'm talking about one of the Superfriends himself, Samurai.

and/or

And yes, to all you Captain Obvious's out there, today's title is indeed a play on the one-hit wonder song by The Vapors, "Turning Japanese":)

"i'm not Japanese i'm Korean" that's a good one. well there goes my vote election night is winding down and the Waller ticket didn't make it. as far as the Romney ticket goes i think even a reboot wouldn't have helped that campaign :) i tell ya when you've got old white men "of faith" in your corner trying to define what "real rape" is you know your in trouble in a 2012 election.

Hey at least you voted Shlomo. I did too, with Harvey Dent. Bruce Wayne, and Barry Allen all getting my votes. Oh and the choice for local sheriff just had to be Nottingham;)

by the way those Judge Dredd and X-Factor (#4) issues you saw in my video were really good reads. both were $1 bin finds. i tell ya bro i'm so done with new comics.

Pretty much me too man, pretty much me too. It's really hard to justify paying over 4$ for filler/crap, when I can just as easily buy a cold beer or two and/or a pack of smokes and enjoy those more. Oh, the price of growing up eh?

So yeah, nothing wrong with unearthing buried comic treasures/gems on the cheap, and really got your money's worth.

Man seems like every time you guys start talking about not buying new comics, my Wed. haul is a piece of dog shit.

Aquaman #13 is garbage 12 was too. After all the hype, we still don't know shit about the Others, Black Manta or the ancient Atlanteans. Geoff Johns built up the story, drug the Hell out of us for 13 issues and didn't seal the deal.

This guy just can't finish a story. It's pathetic! You remember those oldschool cartoons when a character realizes he's been had and a big ass sucker covers his face? I been bamboozled.

Tsk, tsk, sorry man:( That's why us smart cats like Shlomo and I either flip through the comic at the store or read the spoilers online. It's faster, and cheaper.

But don't feel bad; from my understanding the whole story-line seemed promising, but as you pointed out, Johns can't finish a story-line for shit, and thus you and countless others were royally fucked.

It's the current hot trend amongst most(but not all) the new generation of writers that write specifically for trades. it's been that way for awhile, and unless the fans/readers truly let their voices be heard through their wallets, the trend will unfortunately continue:(

And yes, for clarity sake, some older/old-school issues did on occasion drag out plot lines and such. But I'm willing to bet that was either due to writers abruptly leaving a title they were supposed to finish, or even longer-term planning as far as the story went. But mostly stories back then were wrapped in an issue, and you were done. I miss those days even more than I ever thought I would.

You and me too, I miss a story that can be wrapped up in an issue or two. "TSK TSK" man you have me laughing at my own pain. I wonder what's up next for Aquaman?

@Omega, I don't know who's following Johns, but I hope whoever it is they continue Johns' efforts to make Aquaman cool again, just hopefully not continue the same style of drawn-out plots and lackluster stories.

Wait and see I guess.

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
