So, Who Would Win?: Moon Knight VS. The Badger

TGIT!!!!!!

Welcome to yet another edition of

where once a week or so I pit comic characters or teams of comic characters against each other in a last man standing battle to see who survives and who falls.

This week I'm pitting two heroes with histories of mental illness, Moon Knight and the Badger, against each other to see who'll be the last loon standing...or something like that.

I've never really talked much about Mike Baron's Badger here before, even though his creation's been around since the early 80's.

The Badger is really a former vietnam veteran named Norbert Sykes, who also just so happens to have as serious case of MPD, or multiple personality disorder, brought on by a rough childhood with an abusive stepfather, and further exacerbated by his time serving in Vietnam.

He has a total of 6 personalities including that of his superheroic identity The Badger.

Here's all of them in total:

Personalities of the Badger

  • Norbert Sykes: This is his legal identity.
  • The Badger: A martial arts expert (4th or 5th dan in Shōrin-ryū karate, plus many other arts) costumed vigilante dispensing bare-fisted justice to bullies and aggressors of the innocent, but according to his own warped perceptions. He often defends animals or environmental causes.
  • Emily: 9-year-old girl. Related to childhood abuse at the hands of Sykes' stepfather Rollin Sykes.
  • Pierre: Homicidal personality who speaks with a French accent. First appeared when Ham tried to awaken Sykes from his first Emily personality transformation.
  • Leroy: A dog. Sykes had a dog named Leroy that his father Larry beat to death.
  • Gastineau Grover Depaul: Inner city African American; he is unaware of the other Personalities.
  • Max Swell: Architect. Early on, Max was written as a modern epicurean and sophisticated playboy, but appeared to morph into a stereotypical gay man later in the series.

So yeah, he's batshit crazy, but he can still maintain a normal for him type of life.

And of course we all know how legit mentally ill Moon Knight is so I don't think I have to remind of his own personal struggle MPD as well.

Alright, let's compare their respective stats shall we?

-Moon Knight:
Abilities
  • Expert detective
  • Proficient in martial arts and armed combat
    Formerly:
  • Increased strength, endurance, and agility depending on the lunar cycle

-The Badger:
Abilitiesexpert martial artist and talking to animals

Yes that's right, when he's in the personality of the Badger, he can actually make like Dr. Doolittle and talk to the animals. He also seems to have a special empathetic connection with them as well, so yeah, I guess he's like the MPD-having, martial artist version of Animal Man.

So there you go, I'm having these two lunatics fight other for no other reason than my very own entertainment. How very reality tv show producer of me, I know ;)

So, Who Would Win?: Moon Knight VS. Night Thrasher

TGIT!!!!!

Welcome to another exciting (hopefully) edition of:

Where I pit comic characters or teams of comic characters, be it hero or villain, against each in a fight to see who'd be the last man/team standing after it's all said and done.

This week it's a battle of the Marvel versions of Batman as I pit the vengeful Fist of Khonshu, Moon Knight, against the leader and founder of the New Warriors, Night Thrasher.

The only interaction I know of between these two happened during the bi-weekly "Round Robin: The Sidekick's Revenge" storyline in Amazing Spider-Man#'s 353-358.

Other than that, I can't think of any further interactions between the two.

Let's look at their respective stats, shall we?

-Moon Knight:
Abilities
  • Expert detective
  • Proficient in martial arts and armed combat
    Formerly:
  • Increased strength, endurance, and agility depending on the lunar cycle

-Night Thrasher:
AbilitiesExcellent acrobat and inventor
Skilled martial artist, hand-to-hand combatant, and computer hacker
Wears advanced body armor
Formerly: Immunity to telepathy

So right off the bat, we know due to their respective fighting skills that this fight could very well go the distance and last for hours if not longer depending on whether or not each combatant is willing to end it quickly or go for the kill.

Also both combatants also tend to wear some form of body armor, with 'Thrasher wear a whole, entire suit it complete w/ helmet, whereas MK just tends wear it on basic body parts minus his head.

Either way, no matter the motivation and cause for the fight, I imagine it would be one HELL of a battle between them that has the potential to get very nasty.

So, Who Would Win?: Moon Knight VS. Nightwing

TGIT!!!!

Season's Beatings! Wait that's not right.
Ok so it may be Valentine's Day, but today there won't be any love lost here today as I wrap up Moon Knight week and pit the manic ex-merc against the very first Robin, Dick Grayson, aka, Nightwing, in this week's edition of....

You gotta' admit, this particular match up sounds like all sorts of awesome considering you've got the guy who most ignorant noobs and non-comic lay people would call Marvel's Batman fighting against the real Batman's ex #1 sidekick who grew up to be his own man. The possibilities are endless considering the amount of damage done and length of the fight.

Let's check out their respective stats and see how they stack up against each other, shall we?

-Moon Knight:

Abilities
  • Expert detective
  • Proficient in martial arts and armed combat
    Formerly:
  • Increased strength, endurance, and agility depending on the lunar cycle

-Nightwing:

Abilities

Looking at the stats, they're pretty evenly matched up at least as far as skills go.
I'm not sure if Marc would have any super or enhanced strength like he used to have in this fight, so we'll leave it out, but that doesn't mean his MPD won't factor in though.
I feel he won't kill Nightwing since he's not a villain, but depending on his mood and what personality is in control, I'm not sure that he wouldn't seriously fuck up and injure him either.

Either way, this one, will truly be one HELL of a fight.....

Dream Waves: Moon Knight

Yeah it's pretty much officially unofficially Moon Knight week around here isn't it?
Fuck it, why fight it.

So, continuing on with the Moon Knight theme I figured I'd put my thinking hat on and imagine how I'd like a Moon Knight sub-line of Marvel Legends figures to look like and who I'd include in it in  this week's edition of

Let's get to it shall we?

Wave 1:

1). Classic Moon Knight

2). Mr. Knight

3). Bushman

4). Midnight (Jeff Wilde)

Personally, I had three heads for this figure; the full skull-capped one, the one with the half mask w/hair, and the third being an unmasked, battle-damaged head.

5). Scarlet Moonlight

6). Black Spectre

7). Shadow Knight (Randal Spector)

BAF: Werewolf By Night

Honestly Jack's the only figure I can think of that would be BAF material, considering how everyone else enemy or ally, would be regular-sized.

And that's what I think a Moon Knight wave would/should look like.
Did I miss anyone? I know I didn't include supporting characters like Marlene or Frenchy, because honestly, who's going to want action figures of them outside of a few hardcore MK fans. There's just wouldn't be enough interested buyers in them, so I intentionally left them out.

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
