So, Who Would Win?: Namor, The Sub-Mariner VS. Black Adam

TGIT!!!!

What's got two thumbs and is almost done with all of his Christmas shopping?

This guy.

Yup, I'm pretty much done, having got all my shopping for my family done. Just gotta' get for bae's family and that'll be a wrap.

How about you guys? Almost done, haven't started yet, or plan on waiting 'till the last minute?

So for this week's edition of So, Who Would Win? I decided to pit Namor, the Sub-Mariner against Black Adam.

I mean shit, they're pretty much twins, both visually and attitude-wise, especially in the attitude department, with highly-inflated egos, pompous and arrogant from the the day they were born. And they've both been the sole sovereign of their respective kingdoms at one point. They've also played at being hero and villain in their long history, but usually find themselves sitting comfortably on the chair of anti-hero/'tweener.

So honestly this one's a true no-brainer right?
I know I'm not the only who's thought about this too.

Let's get to the stats and compare their powers and skills...

-Namor:
AbilitiesAquatic adaptation
Superhuman strength, speed, agility and reflexes
Mild invulnerability
Flight via tiny wings on his ankles
Longevity
Formerly:
Telepathic control over sea creatures
Ability to copy the powers of sea creatures
They forgot to add he also has resistance to electricity to an extent, and can sometimes discharges said electricity in certain situations.

-Black Adam:
Abilities
  • The Stamina of Shu: superhuman stamina and invulnerability
  • The Speed of Haru: superhuman speed and flight
  • The Strength of Amon: superhuman strength
  • The Wisdom of Zehuti: genius-level intellect and wise judgement
  • The Power of Aton: full control and emission of magical lightning and thunder
  • The Courage of Mehen: unlimited courage and proficient hand-to-hand combatant
  • Longevity

Honestly I feel the battle could go any way. Why? Well if Namor can drag Adam into the sea where he gets his strength from, he could easily have this one wrapped up.

Likewise if Black Adam were to take Namor to the Rock of Eternity, or his adopted home nation of Kahndaq, he'd have a distinct advantage.

So,

Namor, The Sub-Mariner

VS.

Black Adam

    Who wins and why?

I'll leave with one of Black Adam's moments of zen, and a great example of dark gallows comedy if I ever saw one.....

Ha ha!

Have a good one people......

that's funny, it never occurred to me before that these guys look exactly the same. probably Black Adam would win this one. Namor is powerful, but he doesn't quite have the power of a god and not to mention his weakening when he's out of water for extended periods of time.

You're thinking of Aquaman. Now what has been proven about Namor staying out of water for extended periods of time, is how it negatively affects him mentally. I know it's not canon, but in the Earth X trilogy, Alex Ross and Jim Krueger is that Namor becomes more and more mentally unbalanced the longer he stays out of water. Dr. Doom knew this and usued it manipulate him to team-up with him. In Earth X he used that to manipulate Namor into killing the Human Torch as well.

Otherwise, yeah, I'd have to go with Black Adam too unless Namor finds out all he has to do is get Adam to say Shazam, and game over.

No i meant Namor. Even in the Official Marvel Universe Handbook under the powers description for Namor's entry it talks about how much his strength level drops by the hour when he's out of water.

Huh. That's weird. So Marvel straight up jacked that from DC then.

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
