Fantasy Team-Up: John Constantine And Dr. Strange

TGIT!!!!

Anybody watch Arrow last night?
I did but only out of curiosity since I knew Constantine was guest-starring.
It wasn't a bad episode, but it wasn't all that good either, and I think it ended the main conflict way too soon, thus really lessening the tension and urgency of it all.

Constantine's appearance though and how he first was introduced through the flashback scenes seemed to be both believable and staying true to his character. They were for me at least, the best parts of the whole show, and he was just the guest-star.
I liked seemed to like him so much, I might give that show another go by watching re-runs if it.
Otherwise, the show was meh, and wrapped up things to nice and neatly for my taste.

The show's finally boring me after three seasons, and that's not a good feeling to have after investing so much time into it. Maybe it'll pick up with next week's episode, since Ray Palmer makes his long awaited return, as we see what happened to him since last season's finale. Apparently he's stuck being small and at the mercy of Damien Dark.

How this relates or fits into his appearance in the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow show I have no idea, but at least they setup Sara's role I guess.

Other than that, American Horror Story: Hotel is still the must-watch show for me on Wednesdays.
If you're not watching this series, you seriously should. I can't recommend it enough, especially this season. Trust me, do yourself a favor and just do it.

Okay, a change of pace for this week's final column, as I've decided to go with the Fantasy Team-Up feature, something I haven't done in awhile.

Today, I've decided to pair up to master mages who couldn't be more different from each other in both personality and power levels.

I'm talking about John Constantine and Dr. Strange.

As usual, I don't let the fact that they live in separate universes stop me, and this case is no different.

In my scenario, Constantine's back is really and truly against the proverbial wall this time.
Seems six of the most powerful and deadliest evil sorcerers alive in the DCU are dead set on bringing about the much feared end of the world in order to further their own selfish and sinister ends.

Through a macabre and horrific series of events, including, but not limited to, wide-spread ritualistic killings and sacrifices, these evil mages intend on summoning the legendary god-beast, Cthulhu to Earth.
Apparently he's been communicating to them through their dreams, promising them power, slaves, and whatever their dark hearts' desire if they help him crossover into our dimension.

They decide to take him up on his offer, and that's where Constantine gets involved.

He quickly becomes aware that things aren't right, as the Earth communicates to him through his old pal Swamp Thing, who informs him that something dark and purely evil is coming...and the Earth itself is afraid. Very afraid.

John wastes no time confronting the evil group of magicians, made up of Felix Faust, Wotan, The Enchantress, Klarion the Witch Boy, Golden Age villain Ian Karkull, and Morgaine Le Fey.

With all of DC's heroic magic users conveniently kept from helping, Constantine realizes he's royally fucked and in desperate need of help.

So in a last-ditch effort to find help, any help, he casts a unique and wildly unpredictable spell that brings him the help he so desperately needs.
The spell searches all of time and space, and finally finds a doctor a to cure Constantine's world of the deadly plague that infects it.

But not just any doctor.

A blinding array of lights and explosion of smoke reveals Constantine's salvation....

The MU's Master of the Mystic Arts and Sorcerer Supreme, Dr. Strange......
He expected Dr. Fate instead, but quickly realizes this one'll do just the same.

Let the fun begin.......

So, what you guys think? Is the team of Constantine and Dr. Strange enough to overcome 6 evil mystics and the legendary evil beast that is Cthulhu?

Let me know what you think.
Hope you guys have a good weekend, I'm outta' here.....

good team up concept but it looks like this other guy had the idea at one point http://braveandboldlost.blogspot.com/2013/09/john-constantine-hellblazer-and-doctor.html

Huh. Well that sort of thing is bound to happen, especially considering the characters involved, honestly its a bit of a no-brainer.

Ross is the man though, and his cover's beautifully rendered. I'm just not sure what the plot of his scenario is.
Honestly, I like mine better.

I still follow it somewhat regularly myself. He does offer some interesting team-ups even though I wish he'd elaborate more on the scenarios other than just what those beautiful covers offer.

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
