"He's radioactive!"

And the hits keep coming this week, with more Doom Patrol hilarity on the way, next!

See, true story:)

On the subject of radioactivity, here's a cool song from a very short lived rock power group, called The Firm.

"Who's was on The Firm you may ask?"

Legendary guitarist Jimmy Page(Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, Legendary singer Paul Rogers(Free, Bad Company, Queen), ex-Uriah Heep drummer Chris Slade, and Tony Franklin.

While they only stayed together as a band for only two years, it's a testament to the star power of Page and Rogers that a side band like that did so well commercially.

Here's one of their first singles, "Radioactive".

See, I told you that song would fit:)

Have a good one guys.........

Oooh, good song. I love that one. Need to see if I still have the cd, or if it was loaned out.

Somehow, the hilarity of superheros being totally inept at everyday things, and mucking it up with their powers never gets old. Good one, dude.
Besides which, my husband still doesn't know how to properly heat up a hotpocket, so I can buy this.

Aww, thanks:)
Yeah, as I was explaining yesterday, when I bought the Negative Man variant, I was trying to figure what skits to put him in. I just looked at his, and the ideas just started flowing.

And yes heroes(or villains)screwing up royally on simple, everyday stuff as you pointed out, is damn funny!

Thanks for stopping by....

ha nice work again mr! I always loved Doom Patrol, but sometimes it was likecthey were the freaks even the freaks didn't want to join. I mean where was Metamorpho?

As for thecfirm, did anyone elsevthink that dude was Agent Moulder from the X-Files?

@Dan, too true on that one. And yeah Metamorpho would've really fit in with them, but he insisted on going solo for many, many years. Although for was briefly a member of the DP, albeit Josh Thayer's Doom Patrol during John Arcundi's run.

Paul Rogers as Agent Moulder? You trying to be funny man? Get outta' here with that sh*t!:)

Thanks for stopping by as always Dan the man.

the video for that song is one of my earliest memories of MTV back in the day! as such that song is timeless. it's a good example of why the radio sucks ass so much. they'll play a song like this about once for every 500 fucken times they play a song from their short list of Van Halen, Beatles and Rolling Stones songs.

@Dan: I thought the same thing, nobody really wants to join the Doom Patrol.

@Dale: Another hit my friend. I like the story being told in word balloon.

@Shlomo, yeah I agree, the radio stations seem to be permanently stuck on rotating the same popular songs, thus why people who aren't hardcore, die-hard fans, get so frustrated to listening to the same thing. It happens to me too, as there are so many b-sides, or other worthy songs that don't ever get played outside of a random selection once in a blue moon. I think it's because they have a big computer that's just programmed with random popular songs set on rotation. But I could be wrong...

And yes, this song has now has been stuck in my head for two days now. But hey, there's worse songs to get stuck in one's head:)

@Omega, hey man, long time no new post from you. How the hell are you?

Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you enjoyed my humble little skit. Ideally I'd love for all of my skits to all have word balloons, but since I tend to get really wordy at times, like Chris Clarmontian levels, so word balloons aren't always possible. If I did, they'd take up the whole picture, and that's not good.

@Dan, dammit, he does look like Agent Moulder. Dammit!:)

Thanks for stopping by guys:)

I think no one wants to be on Doom Patrol because they all die, or go insane, or get their continuity wiped out by John Byrne.

Mr. Morbid's House Of Fun said...

@Randomnerd: Exactly. And it's if they're lucky:)

But hey, at least they didn't have Rob Liefield on art or writing duty, so they dodged that bullet:)

Count your blessings, hey?
:)
You know, maybe they should make that their motto. Put it out at their recruitment drive. "At least Liefeld has never touched our book!"

Mr. Morbid's House Of Fun said...

I'm pretty sure Googum and I would both agree with you on that one:)

Thus, a new mantra for the Doom Patrol is born this day! "At least Liefield has never touched our book!"

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
