So, Who Would Win?: Onslaught VS. Dormammu

TGIT!!!!!

Oh God is it REALLY the last day of November already!?

*Sigh*

Well at least I get end No Shave November/No Nut November with a bang as I present this week's edition of So, Who Would Win? with a battle of two of the most powerful Marvel villains in the MU, Onslaught and Dormammu.

Now I was inspired to pit these two together due to an admittedly silly impetus; I just so happen to have their respective Marvel Legends action figures versions standing next together on my overwhelmed toy shelf.

Yup, simple as that really.

But honestly, the idea appeals to me because of the vast power both of these characters have/have access to, so the prospect of them fighting it out for supremacy is too good to pass up.

Of course as just so happens, I'm not the only one to think about having these two fight since the comic website Comic Vine already conjured up this match earlier this year on their own.

That's cool, but I still go ahead with presenting it here too.
And hey if you want to check out it over there, here's a handy link to guide on your way:
https://comicvine.gamespot.com/forums/battles-7/onslaught-vs-dormammu-576979/

Now I know there's a version or two out there of Onslaught, as well as the Red Skull version, but I'm just using the original version for the purpose of this fight.

Let's go to the stats to see how these two vastly powerful beings compare against one another.

-Onslaught:
AbilitiesPsychic omnipotence
Okay so that may not quite explain all of his powers, so here's a quick run-down/explanation:

"Onslaught is a psionic entity with superior physical and mental power; possessing the combined abilities of Professor XMagnetoFranklin Richards, and Nate Grey. At its prime, Onslaught is capable of telepathy, telekinesis, energy projection, sensing mutant presences, manipulating magnetic fields, and affecting reality itself. Onslaught can also enhance its physical size and strength.

Onslaught's true body was revealed to be a mass of pure, psionic energy that was immune to all forms of physical attacks."

So yeah, he's basically a god at the very peak of his powers/ultimate form.

-Dormammu:
AbilitiesMystic energy manipulation
Mastery of dark magic
Dimensional teleportation
Immortality

Here's a further explanation of his power set:

"The character is an interdimensional entity composed of mystical energy that can be used to achieve almost any effect he desires, including: energy projection, matter manipulation, resizing, teleportation, possession; necromancy, bestowing of power, and creating demon lords. In certain instances Dormammu has been displayed approaching a universal, or even multiversal, scale of influence.
Dormammu is apparently stronger in the Dark Dimension, being empowered by the worship of his followers, and can draw upon its power. The character has been shown to have one significant weakness: being vulnerable in environments that cannot fuel his mystical Faltine flames"

I don't know about you guys, but shit, they seem pretty damn evenly-matched to me.

Now I'm sure I could create a reason why these two would ever cross paths and have beef with one another, but honestly, who would care? They're both highly egotistical fanatics with want to the rule not only the world and the universe, but probably the entire multiverse too.

It could just be a case of them each seeing the other as an obstacle to that goal, simple as that.

So,

Onslaught

VS.

Dormammu

Who wins and why?

You know the deal, let me know who think is the last mad bastard left standing at the end of this in the comments' section.

Personally for me, this is a tough one to call, as both of them are redonkulously powerful, not to mention how much of a factor the environment could play in this. Like say if they were on the Astral Plane or the Heroes Reborn counter-Earth, then Onslaught may have an advantage, whereas if the fight were to take place in Dormammu's home world of the Dark Dimension, then HE'd have the considerable advantage.

If I had to make a gut decision, I'd have to go with probably Dormammu on this one, if only because if Onslaught's true form is nothing but powerful psionic energy, and Dormammu can easy manipulate all forms of energy, then it's stand to reason he'd win in the end.
But that's just my opinion. What's yours?

Alright kids, have a good one.
See you in December......

Ohhh close call - I never got what Onslaught got from the Magneto influence apart from colour scheme. That said Ol' Door Jam has my vote too. In Marvel vs Capcom, he may not be that manoeuvrable but he sure unleashes hell (pun intended) when you meet Galactus.

I like that mentally, Onslaught can make you see your own hell, but Dormammu can easily take you there. That leaves the door open for a three-way showdown with Mephisto too - and that would be crazy.

It would wouldn't it? You maybe right that while Onslaught is crazy powerful, he might not be so much if he wasn't on this dimension, and had to take on Dormammu on his home turf.
It'd be cool AF to watch though.

Man what's been eating on Dead Pool's face. I can't focus on the battle cause I keep looking at the floor to see if parts of this guys face is on my shoes. Uhhh....Dormammu wins.

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
