"Nothing to see here!"

What's up people?

I don't know about you guys, but my weekend was both fun and interesting!
Besides getting to hang out with one of my favorite people in the whole(StarryPluto)world, I just happened to get a free trip to my not-so-local comic book store, and make a find of the year!(for now I think)

Yes folks, after much, much looking tirelessly for what seemed like an eternity, I finally stumbled upon The GA Atom from Wave 19 of the DCUC.

That's right, show us those guns son!
As you can plainly see, there's wrong with this figure. He's just too sweet!
Now people can complain that he's not short enough, since he's supposed to be 5'1"(Yeah think about that for a minute; Wolverine's taller than him by an inch!) The 4Horsemen did shorten his calves, but yes, he's still taller than he should be. Still, I prefer this look and height, as at least now he really can see
And..........his fellow JSA'er, the GA Starman.
Here he is fist-pumping like a Jersey Shore Guido. You go boy!

I absolutely love this guy, from his fin all the way to the holster he has for his cosmic gun. Yeah I know, who'd a thunk it right? Starman carrying a piece? But it looks good, adds to the overall silver-age-y, sci-fi look and feel of the character.

One negative for me though is the fin. See looking straight at him, the fin looks fine; but from the side, the fin, to me, hangs over too far. It's a small nitpick, but it doesn't totally ruin the overall figure for me.

If you want or haven't already, here's the links over @ Itsalltrue.net where they review both figures:

GA Starman:

GA Atom:

The GA Atom was a particularly awesome and fortuitous find for me, considering how very little distribution Wave 19 got; as in I don't think too many figures of that wave made appearances in too many cities, except maybe the major ones.

I mean I was looking for them on the East Coast, while Googum, was looking for them where he's at on the West Coast, and between us, we couldn't find a single figure from this wave, with the exception of Goo snagging the Kobra figure. So yeah, a lot of hunting and digging went into the short guy.

But wait, that's not all!
Nope I find one more figure that I bought instead, passing up the New 52 version of Batman, the 1st ML version of Magneto, and the 1st ML Iron Man...........the new, ML Neo-Classic armor Iron Man:

This version of his 80's armor is my second favorite armor, right after his classic 60's/70's one.
I did enjoy the fact that they sort of got around the bulky shoulder pads that would really restrict his poseability/articulation by allowing the shoulder pads flip up via the one-side connected hinge. That was a good call by Hasbro on that one.

My only complaints about this awesome figure, is that he's obviously tooled from MU mold of sorts, thus why the lack of more articulation, the fact that his visor doesn't come off, which would've been really cool, and the relatively small stature of this figure. This armor should be taller, like say how the Super Soldier Steve Rogers figure is. Oh well........

I'll explain my love for this version of IM's armor tomorrow, getting to the why's and what makes this armor so iconic in my view.

All-in-all, I managed to only pay $10 apiece for the Starman and Atom figures, which really is a steal, but did pay the regular inflated comic store costs of about $20 for Iron Man. Not bad at all, if I do say so myself.....And I do:)

Alright on to the really, really good stuff:

Yeah......I don't know what that's all about either. Don't ask, don't tell, probably:)

I've been looking for this guy also with no results. But I'm just going to cut him into so many pieces and customize.

I bought a Ravan not to long ago and she came with two left hands. This is about the third time I've gotten a dcuc defect. I think it's time to credit me one.

@Sholom, nothing naughty happened if that's what you mean you little devil you;)

No Dredd though, and hell even Googum hasn't seen that one either, so maybe you, Omega, and Dan might be the only ones of the five to have seen it so far.

Aww, and thanks for the shirts, ha ha. SS ideas like that are pretty sweet, but yeah no way DC's likely to do something cool like that.

@Omega, you poor bastard! That shit can happen, as in the case of that DCUC Mercury. I was just trying to swap one of his hands out for one of his acessories, and the damn thing just popped out and broke, leaving the peg deep inside the wrist. Still can't get it, so it's on the mending list for now.
But yeah, you really deserve credit or a free figure.

Damnit, why was I thinking I could skip that Iron Man? Probably going to cough up for him. Should shell out for Dredd too, but I've really blown my budget.

@Googum, yeah man, you know the cardinal rule, you sleep, you lose:(

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
