Well here it is kiddies, as promised, this is the first of four Halloween-themed editions of So, Who Would Win?.
I'm starting the whole thing off with a battle of two famous Marvel monsters, Man-Thing and Frankenstein's Monster (Marvel's version of Frankenstein of course)
Now at first, I didn't think these two had fought each other before, and shit, they've even been teammates together in the Howling Commandos, but yes, they have fought each other before.
This happened in the Fearsome Four: Fear Itself 4-issue mini-series, where Howard the Duck recruits Nighthawk, She-Hulk, and Frankenstein's Monster to take down an out of control Man-Thing.
This is because during the Fear Itself event, the world was consumed by fear, and as we all know, "Whoever knows fear, burns at the Man-Thing's touch", meaning ol' Manny was killing motherfuckers left and right due to all that damn fear in the air driving him nuts.
Well this time, it's a one-on-one fight to death, to see who's the last monster standing.
Let's the compare the stats on these guys first, shall we?
-Man-Thing:
Powers |
---|
Damn, that's a lot of abilities. And yet Man-Thing doesn't always fully-utilized all those powers he possesses, and that's probably a good thing too, because if he ever did, the MU would be royally fucked.
-Frankenstein's Monster:
Abilities | Superhuman strength and stamina Resistance to extreme cold temperatures |
---|
That's pretty much on par with how he's been traditionally portrayed over the years, especially @ Marvel. Of course the DC version has immortality as well, and is more intelligent.
So,
Man-Thing
VS.
Frankenstein's Monster
Who Wins and Why?
Tomorrow (yes tomorrow) I'll post another edition to make up for a late start this month.
So tune in and see what dream horror match up happens.....

Man-Thing, that's a no brainer. I mean really what can Frank do to really hurt Man-Thing? By the way got your comment over at the Suicide Squad blog and there's so much that is a damn shame about new comics when it comes to DC, Marvel and idw which is why I don't buy new comics.
@Shlomo:
Good point, and I figured Manny had the double advantage here, seeing as how if he could exploit Frank's fear of fire, he could make him burn double.
Agreed, and ditto.
I mostly play catch up with certain trades of older works, indy or mainstream.
Sorry I'm late to the party.
MAN-THING.
Because... Oh Hell... Do I REALLY need to list ALL the reasons?
BUT, I'd prefer it if they just hung out together, peacefully, in the swamp.
@~P~
Naaw man, you're not late, you're right on time;)
Yeah, obviously Manny has this in the bag since he's redonkulously over-powered.
But yeah, I think they could do that second option, as long as Frankie stays calm and doesn't start fearing stuff, so as to trigger Manny.
