Dream Waves: Mutant X

Huh. Well, looks like I'm writing another edition of
this week, so hell, might as well turn it into a week-long thing then, right?

Cool.

So today I'll focus on a nice spin-off in the 90's called Mutant X.

No not, the lame tv show, but the 1998 comic series that starred Havok and replaced the then newly-cancelled X-Factor comic.

In it, a dimension-displaced Havok finds his soul trapped into the body of an alternate world's Havok, a Havok who's just been killed by a sentinel attack, thus allowing the 616 Havok to inhabit his body.

From there, our Havok explores the many differences that exist in his new home compared to world he remembers, and there are plenty.

Now there is a precedent here as Toy Biz in the late 90's rolled out a few Mutant X figures.

I mean back then, what character in the X-Men's world DIDN'T get made into their own figure back then, and the Mutant X series was no exception.

Oddly enough only 4 members of the Six were ever made, with the glaring exception of The Brute and Ice-Man. Weird.

So, with that in mind, I offer up to Hasbro and who's ever reading out there, my ideas on how to put out a Mutant X-centric sub-wave of X-men figures for the Marvel Legends line.

of course you have to start with the main cast first....

Mutant X Wave 1:

1. Havok

2). Goblin Queen

3). Bloodstorm

4). Ice-Man

5). The Brute

6). The Fallen

BAF: Sentinel

And then you go with the secondary characters, and trust me, there's lots of them to choose from. Here's who I picked.....

Mutant X Wave 2:

1). Cyclops

2). Captain America

3). Spider-Man

Basically you re-use the 6-armed Spider-man figure, but this time all the arms match and are costumed.

4). Daredevil

5). Bullseye

6). Rogue

BAF:  Iron Man

And of course there's always an Mutant X Fantastic Four 4-pack box-set they could do:

Of course there's always more choices, but those are mine.

Dream Waves: Iron Man

What's up folks?
Haven't done this in awhile, but this is a brand new edition of

Dream Waves, for the uninitiated, is basically where I go through and roll out a list figures I'd love to see get made in a series of waves.

Up until very recently I've been doing so many of these, that I'm actually running out of ideas for future waves. Especially now that Hasbro has really stepped up their game as of late and put out much-needed and much-wanted additions to their Marvel Legends line.

On the DC end, Mattel still owns the license but not for long since Todd McFarlane's own toy making company won the right to to make DC figures next year. Hopefully they'll be better than Mattel's recent outings, and provide plenty more variety and choices of figures, especially those that usually don't get love like oh, say Sgt. Rock, Dr. Polaris, The Key, or Shade, the Changing Man.

This week I'm devoting this column to an Iron Man-centric wave all the cool heroes and villains you can squeeze of several waves of figures just based off Iron Man and his friends and foes alike.

Check 'em out....

ML Iron Man Wave 1:

1). Superior Iron Man

2). Spymaster

3). The Unicorn

4). Blacklash

5). Count Nefaria

6). Classic War Machine (Redo/Update)

7). The Controller

BAF:  The Titanium Man

ML Iron Man Wave 2:

1). The Mandarin

2). Classic Ghost

3). Madame Masque (Redo)

4). Detroit Steel

5). Crimson Dynamo (Redo)

6). Space Armor

7). Centurion Armor

BAF: Ultimo

Ok, so yes, these two waves are VERY villain-centric, but honestly, he's got a lot villains that need to be made into toy form, and he's already got plenty of friends that have already been made, so.....

Also I'd like to throw in two more names:

A more classic version of the Living Laser, be it the Silver Age version or the more modern version

And a re-release of Dreadknight, straight from the SDCC exclusive ML Vault box set.

So, Who Would Win?: Hydro-Man VS. The Sandman

TGIT!!!!!

Well folks it's that time again, it's time for another exciting edition of

where I pit comic characters and/or teams of comic characters against each other in a fight to the death to see who would win out in the end.

This week's combatants are certainly no strangers to each other, as they've fought before with disastrous results.

Of course I'm talking about Hydro-Man and the Sandman respectively.

As I've mentioned before, these have fought each other in the past, but never with a satisfying ending. This time there will be, as only one elemental fighter can walk or slither away from this fight after it's all said and done.

Let's check out their respective stats and see how they compare to each other, shall we?

-Hydro-Man:

Powers:
Blast Power
Escape Artist
Ice Control
Immortal
Invulnerability
Shape Shifter
Size Manipulation
Stamina
Stealth
Sub-Mariner
Super Strength
Unarmed Combat
Water Control

-The Sandman:

Powers:
Adaptive
Animation
Chemical Absorption
Density Control
Duplication
Escape Artist
Flight
Invulnerability
Matter Absorption
Sand manipulation
Shape Shifter
Size Manipulation
Stamina
Super Strength
Unarmed Combat

As you can see, besides the obvious similarities, they're both pretty evenly matched and seem to easily counter each other's abilities. Someone's going to have to get really vicious and really evil to win this one.

So,

Hydro-Man

VS.

The Sandman

Who wins and why?
Let me know who you think is the last man standing in the comments' section.

have a good weekend everyone.....

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
