I'm sure Atom fans have to be divided between breathing a sigh of relief that this isn't happening to their boy, about then there's some that have to have a morbid curiosity with seeing Ray put in the same exact scenario.
I know this whole Ant Man/Thanos thing is played for laughs and nothing gets boys chuckling more than a ass joke, but if they wanted Ant Man/Thanos - Ray/Darkseid - to be done quickly, just get the little guy into his ear instead. Mess up his equilibrium, bring him down, expand to full size and blow up his head.

Hell Morrison's idea of the Atom shrinking past Darkseid's force field via riding light particles to get inside and kill his brain was genius I thought. Ahhh Rock of Ages...another example of Morrison's JLA run being better than we deserved.
