Fantasy Team-Up: The Punisher and The Vigilante

For today's edition of Fantasy team-Up, I' pairing up what I feel would be a very natural pairing in the Punisher and The Vigilante.

This one's seriously a no-brainer, and I've brought it up before, especially in a skit, as seen here:

http://dbsuniverse.blogspot.com/2017/07/dont-forget-to-pack-your-pvds.html

I brought this one up because I see Frank and Adrian having somewhat of a bromance, seeing as how they both have A LOT in common.

Let's take a brief look at the main things they have in common:

  • They both lost their families to Mob violence
  • They both kill criminals
  • They both work outside the law
  • They've both worked with and worked against other superheroes and superhero teams

Now of course the there are some slight differences though.

See Adrian seemed to constantly struggle with his actions as the Vigilante.
At first he used non-lethal methods to fight crime. Then after accidentally killing a corrupt cop, he changed his mind on the whole non-lethal thing, and started popping caps in criminal asses.
This quickly lead to his mental state unraveling more and more, where he'd alternate between bouts of intense anger and paranoid, to intense remorse and guilt for his actions. In the end he couldn't handle it anymore and killed himself.

Frank doesn't really suffer from these mental bouts, well not anymore. While it can be debated whether or not he has mental issues (he probably does as well as well as an extreme case of PTSD)
he's never really felt guilt over killing criminals. That's really his therapy.

Regardless of all that, in a perfect setting, I can see both of these guys working VERY well together, killing criminals, swapping stories about their kills, discussing and exchanging weapon-cleaning tips.

And if Adrian is still working as an attorney, he could become a defense attorney strictly to help keep or get Frank out of jail.

I guess Frank would finally meet a lawyer he'd actually like for a change;)

Something to think about....

Don't Forget To Pack Your PVD's

Holy shit, it's the end of July already....Fuck, where does the time go?

Oh well, might as well finish off the month in style with a brand new skit.
Stop me if you've heard this before, The Punisher, The Vigilante, and Daredevil walk into a bar......

How have Frank and Adrian Chase NOT teamed up already!?!?!?

Seriously, that's like Frank's, or one of Frank's wet dreams, to meat someone like the Vigilante to hang out with and kill criminals together.

Shit, if they ever moved the Vigilante to marvel, I could easily see Frank wanting him to replace DD in their little Netflix superhero team. The Defenders.

I could see it.....

So, Who Would Win?: Magog Vs. Cable

TGIT!!!!!

Just wanted to take a quick second, to show off the new addition to my collection, The Vigilante from the DCUC line.

I just love his overall classic look, and how well the sculpters, The 4 Horsemen(not those Horsemen)
really did on this one. He's perfect!

He has visor eyes which adds to his appeal(my buddy Roger refers to him as "Scuba Steve")
and brah, he has guns.

He comes with an uzi, pistol, and rifle, so you know he'll be doing some "sharing" with his possible new BFF, The Punisher.

Standard articulation and posibility right here, as well as crisp paint-work. Love it!

Now I'm just waiting on the regular, Silver verison of the DCUC Captain Atom to show up, as well as the two ML figures I pre-orderd from Amazon, The Grim Reaper and Tiger Shark.

And now onto today's fantasy fight......

So while I understand this match-up isn't exactly a new idea, its still an idea worth exploring.
I'm talking about DC's Magog fighting Marvel's Cable.

How could this fight NOT happen.
Magog's whole look was based off Cable anyways, particularly the designs Ross and Waid didn't like from Cable's look.

When it comes to powers, Magog should be way ahead there. In his Kingdom Come version, he was able to go head-to-head with Superman, if not outright beat him.

His in continuity version, was still pretty powerful, but not enough to keep him from having Maxwell Lord mentally force him to kill himself.

with that little tidbit in mind, plus the fact that Cable's no slouch in the powers department himself, having survived physical wars with the Hulk and Apocalypse, there's no way this fight will be an easy one.

Both men are battle-hardened soldiers.
This shit's going to be intense.

So,

Magog

VS.

Cable

Who Wins and Why?
I'm curious who you guys and gals are rooting for in this one.

Have a good weekend folks......

So, Who Would Win?: Daredevil VS. The Vigilante(Adrian Chase)

TGIT!!!!!

Okay, so you know how I mentioned the Vigilante in last week's editon of So, Who Would Win?
Yeah?
Well he's back, and this time facing someone who'd give him a run for his money in the legal department;

Daredevil.

Yup, Daredevil, a fellow legal eagle himself in his everyday guise as Matt Murdock.

Now to quickly remind the viewers at home, Adrian Chase(The Vigilante) is a former district attorney who's family were killed by the mob. More than likely and understandibly upset at the lack of progress with his local law enforecment agency, Mr. Chase decided to take the law and matters into his own hands and fight back as the costumed vigilante known as.....The Vigilante.

So, we have a costumed "hero" who seems to be made up of equal parts Daredevil(lawyer) and the Punisher(kills criminals, family killed by the mob).

Given those facts, this imagined fight really just writes itself if you think about it.

But for the sake of arguement, let's say that Adrian Chase is still practicing law, and is still in fact a district attorney. That means he prosecutes criminal cases.

Murdock on the other hand, is a defense attorney, meaning he defends criminals.

See where this is headed?

What if.....Chase and Murdock find themselves on opposite sides iof the same criminal case.
Chase, either during the trial, or after(depending on the verdict) decides to pay said criminal a lethal visit as the Vigilante. Murdock as Daredevil, decides to do the same, but for different reasons, since DD doesn't outright kill people.

And faster than you can say conflict of interest, these two find themselves at odds against one another; both in the court room and now as costumed rivals.

Like I said, it practically writes itself.

Now to be honest, DD's no stranger to guys like Chase. Years of battling the Punisher and similar guys(and gals) are nothing new. So in that particular light, DD should be able to scope this new guy out and beat him right?

But what if during the fight, DD unmasks the Vigilante, and discovers he's the same guy he's battling in court.
How does it affect DD's plans now?

That's what you people get to decide, as I pit Daredevil versus The Vigilante.

So,

Daredevil

VS.

The Vigilante

Who Wins and Why?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one, because really, how cool would it be to see two laywers on the exact opposite side of the fence fighting against each other both in the court room and outside of it?

Let me know what you think.

As always, have a good weekend everybody......

So, Who Would Win?: The Punisher VS. Deathstroke

TGIT!!!!

In wondering who to select for this week's edition of So, Who Would Win?, I first thought about having The Puisher face off against DC Comics' Vigilante. Remember him? He was an anti-hero character first introduced into the New Teen Titans in the 80's named Adrian Chase. He was a lawyer by day, vigilante by night. Kind of like a Daredevil who actively kills criminals.

As good a match-up as they maybe, I decided instead to save that one for another feature, and have them team-up instead. Makes more sense to me, especially since they have similar origins in that both their familes were killed by mobsters. And I figure Mr. Chase wouldn't be as worthy an opponent for Frank as the guy I chose instead. After all, realistically why would they fight, when it'd make more sense them to be on the same side.

So, I chose this guy instead.

Yep, Slade wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke The Terminator.

We all know the deal with this guy. He's a ruthless killer for hire, with his own twisted moral code that he lives by. Sometimes the almighty dollar doesn't totally motivate him, as we've seen when he attacked the Teen Titans when he thought they were responsible for the death of his son.

But it usually is.

He may not have super-powers in the standard way, but he does have enhanced skills and abilities in spades. Think of him  like how co-creator Marv Wolfman once described him, as "The evil version of Captain America".
He's got enhanced strength(but not super, super-strength) lighting-fast reflexes, agility, and a form of a healing factor. Combine that with his years and years of military combat experience, and you'll see why this fight will be fun to watch play out on so many levels.

The Punisher, for lack of a better term, is pretty much Marvel's version of Batman, in that as been previously shown in an ass-load of comics, when given the time to plan, he can pretty much beat anybody.
He's no slouch in the multiple years of military combat experience either, since he served 3 tours in Vietnam as a Marine in the army.

Like Slade, he's skilled in various forms of martial arts and hand-to-hand combat and weapon training.
Seriously, these two could just as easily bond over their huge gun collection as they could fight it out in the streets or wherever.

And to add to the uncertainty of the whole thing, consider this; both of them have taken out their respective premier super-hero teams, with the Punisher having taken out the Avengers before, while Slade took out the Justice League.

So the question then becomes, can Frank survive a fight with a guy who's just as skilled and ruthless as him, but quicker, stronger, and more powerful?

Let's what I'd like to know, as I'm sure you all have probably considered a few times yourselves.

So,

The Punisher

VS.

Deathstroke....

Who Would Win and Why?
Tell me who you think survives this one.

Here's hoping you guys and gals have a good weekend,
peace and chicken grease bitches......

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."
