For this week's edition of So, Who Would Win?, it's a battle of the rampaging monsters as I pit the Incredible Hulk against Solomon Grundy.
Be honest. you know you've always wondered what would happen if the green, gamma ray-empowered Hulk went toe to toe with the undead killer zombie from Slaughter Swamp.
Well today I lay out this dream match scenario where the two meet and fight to see who's the strongest...and toughest there is.
Here's the Hulk's stats:
Bruce Banner:
Hulk:
|
And here's Solomon Grundy's:
Superhuman strength and stamina
Healing Factor
Near invulnerability
Virtual indestructibility and immortality
Now between the two, the height and weight will vary depending on their various incarnations, but one thing remains constant; they're built to fight.
Grundy is essentially a zombie, that can never truly die, as each times he "dies", he's resurrected back again, but with a different personality each time.
The Hulk doesn't die, as he's not a zombie, but he has had various incarnations himself, ranging from grey to green and back again with various shades of green in-between.
They both been savage, smart, savage, and back again many times over the years, so it's anyone's guess which ideal versions of the two would battle it out.
Personally if it were me, I'd prefer it be the classic, savage version of the Hulk versus the savage, murderous version of Grundy, to make things even I guess.
So,
The Incredible Hulk
VS.
Solomon Grundy
Who Wins and Why?
Let me know who you think's the last monster standing in the comments' section.
Have a good weekend people....

hey man clear something up for me Grundy's origin is supernatural in nature yeah? by the way you know what would be another hard to call match up? Elektra vs Black Widow what an awesome cat fight that would be. by the way even as a non Star Wars fan i'm glad you still liked that little background info for the now late Gordon "Dewe" Henley.
Ok, here goes: It wasn't until Alan Moore in the 80's, then James Robinson in the 90's in his Starman series, explained what happened to Grundy. He was brought back by the Parliament of Trees, the same mystical group of elemental spirits that brought back Swamp Thing. Well in bringing back Grundy, he was missing an element, fire, since he drowned, thus the process was unbalanced. This explains why every time he dies, he's brought back with a different personality and mindset.
Hope that helps. He's a failed prototype Swamp Thing basically.
Elektra VS. Black Widow? Hell of a fight. I couldn't pick, because one used to be dead, so that gives her an edge, but Widow's no slouch in combat either. I'm sure this is Matt Murdock's wet dream. I guess if it's to the death, that would change things.
No problem. I'm a fan of history, so that was a nice little tidbit.
