Looks like it's that time again folks. You know, that time in the week where I pit a random selection of teams or individuals in a duel to the bitter end?
Yep.
This week's combatants are both hot and the multi-media radar recently.
First up is Deathlok.
Thanks to appearing on the hit show Agents of SHIELD, there's been a whole new resurgence in popularity and interest for Marvel's favorite cyborg. Hell, he even rated a brand new comic series again.Good for him.
Next up is Cyborg.
He's currently a member of the JLA, as well as recently starring in a bunch of DCU movies, notably JLA:WAR and the upcoming JLA: Thrones Of Atlantis.
Both are big, black, and beyond deadly thanks in large part to their mechanical....parts.
I imagine realistically that they're both pretty evenly matched, but also differ in some key fundamental ways.
Cyborg lacks the military combat training that Deathlok has, while Deathlok's cyborg body probably isn't as enhanced and technologically advanced enough to upgrade on the spot like Cyborg can. Especially if we're talking about the NU52 version....I think.
As always, I leave it up to you, the reader, to decide who you think ultimately walks away from this one.

It's a super-tough choice for me, as I really want to say Deathlok, but I think it'll go to Cyborg. He could hack into Deathlok and take control of him. Easy pickens after that, plus with the current version's advanced tech thanks to Darkseid, I see Cyborg over-powering 'Lok in this one.

I'd have to give it to Cyborg, too, because of that hacking ability. Which he never seems to pull out of his ass until he's got one arm ripped off. But hey, he's a good guy. Maybe he feels it's cheating? Deathlok. May be shiftier and deadlier with a gun, but Cyborg definitely has more tricks up his sleeve. Gotta give it to my favorite science project.
Cyborg is DEFINITELY more technically advanced. He is a more high-tech weapon... but Deathlok is TOTALLY cooler! Cyborg would probably win in a fight- but my 90's nerdy fan-boy still says Deathlok ALL THE WAY! *relax no-killing parameter*
King's right, Deathlok is indeed much more cooler than Cyborg. He just is. Unfortunately that still doesn't translate to him beating Cyborg.
