So yesterday I was doing a quick Google search of replacement sites for Rotten.com.
Rotten.com, if you may remember as I did an article on it last year I believe, up until the beginning of November of this year, had been around for 20-something years as the website that was pretty much the spiritual successor to the classic Faces of Death video franchise, just in the form of a website.
Now recently I discovered why Rotten.com came to be in the first place. Apparently back in 1995, the government was already trying to censor content on the still young, developing internet with legislation that became an act called the Communications Decency Act of 1996.
In response to this, Rotten.com founder Thomas E. Dell decided he didn't care for any sort of censorship of the internet, and created Rotten.com.
